Attacked by INV Dreadnought... revenge was had!!

Earlier today, in a cowardly and unprovoked assault, the Imperial Naval Vessel Dreadnought fired upon and destroyed my beloved Asp Explorer ("Walrus"), a veteran of the Distant Worlds expedition, while I was conducting peaceful research at the alien crash site.

My holding a high rank within their own naval reserve obviously meant little to these imperial dogs. In erecting a cordon around the alien craft they have laid claim to something that is not theirs to claim, and in the process, unlawfully destroyed an unarmed science vessel.

To reclaim the wreck for science, and to avenge my "Walrus", I returned at the helm of a Federal Corvette.....

The below is a video account of what happened, with some sections sped up for the sake of brevity :)

Apologies for the loss of video quality, it was recorded in 4k, sadly, windows movie maker threw a fit trying to edit/save an anything higher then 1080p :(

And yes, I know it will just spawn in again as soon as I leave the instance, its just a bit of role-play fun ;)

Its a shame they dont explode, killed 3 yesterday in Mu Koji (with others the      can I do that on my own).

Very glad that I didn't take the Ouroboros there. If I'd lost her I'd be heart broken (and dead, since I'm playing 'Iron Man').

Bravo! Always feels good to avenger the (temporary) destruction of a beloved ship! Picked that bird clean. Nice and methodical.

Really reminds me of Star Wars Galaxies: Gun#5, escort, shield generators....except for the lack of shields on that Imperial ship! LOL. Wow.
Unless they put decent shields on those things, they'll simply be target practice. Still looks like fun. :D

These capital ships are so weak that I wonder why the Feds and imps even bother to use them.
They do not project power. They only project weakness.

When I played X-Wing or Tie Fighter the Star Destroyers were something you were afraid of.
You tried to stay away from them.
But in Elite the capital warships are powerless soft targets.
FD needs to change this.

Pretty soon the Imps and Feds are going to be taking those Cruisers to the Engineers to get them tweaked to Commander status. "How many mats to upgrade this?"

Would be cool if ships chatter later was "...and I took the Indomitable to this Engineer and after 4 lousy rolls I only got a 4 percent boost. I mean,    !" "Yeah, I'm going to get more mats now. Where do you find Energy Grid Assemblies again???"
