PvP Attacked inside a star port????

So I was just about to dock at Obsidian Orbital, and I came under fire. AFAIK I was clean at Maia, so I assumed it was a gank. Couldn't really tell much from the sensor, there were a lot of ships about.

I was pretty close to the slot, so just flew in, assuming I'd be safe.

Once in, I couldn't land. Something was pushing me from behind, and although I was able to push back by reversing and approach the landing pad again, I couldn't land (checked gear down).

All of a sudden my hull was gone and I was at the rebuy screen.

Any clues as to what happened?

There's not much to go on.... from EDDiscovery I have:

"ReceiveText", "From": "Obsidian Orbital", "An ally like you is always welcome here.", "Channel": "npc"
"ReceiveText", "From": "Obsidian Orbital", "Docking request granted.", "Channel": "npc"
"DockingGranted", "LandingPad": 5, "StationName": "Obsidian Orbital"
"ReceiveText", "From": "Obsidian Orbital", "No fire zone entered.", "Channel": "npc"

And then when trying to dock at pad 5...

"ShieldState", "ShieldsUp": false
"HullDamage", "Health": 0.19641, "PlayerPilot": true, "Fighter": false
"Died"

Admittedly I was down to 25% hull already, after an encounter with a bunch of NPCs on a failed mission, but what could kill me inside the station?

No log entries relating to coming under attack outside.

Gank.

Someone rammed u to death.

But u got one thing wrong here m8.

There is such no thing like "Clean" or "Wanted", Maia is anarchy, wich mean lawless. No one cares if cmdrs attacks other cmdrs, even inside stations.

Inside of station, ships cant fire, but they can ram.

Working as intended.

U should train some self-awareness, and u could easily avoid it.

I've experienced this at Obsidian Orbital before. Basically, you were the target of some guy who, on his end, has been bugged in the instance and the space station doesn't exist for him/her - he/she can see everyone else's ships, but no one can see him/her - this allows the griefer to shoot and kill anyone in and outside the station, and unless your docked, you have a high chance of dying if you aren't on the pad (where your invincible). Worst thing is, because the station asset isn't on his/her client and effectively "doesn't exist", there's nothing to destroy them if they are committing crimes in and outside the station. It is rare, but I've seen it for myself at that station, and it only happens when it is busy.

From what I know ramming attacks are fairly common at anarchy stations with high player traffic. I don't think there's any reliable defence against it as it is impossible to dock while being pushed around and if you try to leave the station you will be shot at as soon as you get through the slot.

How come the station doesn't blow them up. Because they weren't speeding ? but then why did the station blow me up ?

Obsidian Orbital & they are committing crimes

Anarchy, m8.

And u got whole thing wrong too.

There is no such thing as committing crime in anarchy. Please remeber this before spread disinformation like this ever again.

And

If u got attacked by "invisible" cmdr, he still must see station on its end in order to influence said instance.

This also mean that this cmdr must follow station rules.

Firing weapons inside any large stations triggers defences.

Any ganker knows that only way to kill inside station without trigger station defences is ram.

Any station under anarchy, cares only about own fraction, anything rest, including cmdrs, might well as perish, and station will never bother.

When I was landing and I came in low over the landing pad just before mine . You get a loitering warning. I think he pushed me down onto that pad and held me there till the time limit expired and the station blew me up. I know the guy in the tower could see what was going on. He must have been paid off. These griefers have deep pockets and friends in high places! Kind of cool move if you ask me. I really didn't care. I thought it was a creative kill. o7 fly dangerous

Why did you leave out the middle lines? they're the ones which tell you what happened!

The very epitome of sympathy, in this game. :(

I came in on docking computer but couldn't land. Eventually I realised my allocated dock was already occupied by an NPC ship.

Weird.

I've been rammed before while trying to dock, and the station won't do anything about it because there's no weapons fire. In an anarchy system, no one in the station cares until you're a threat to them. It's juvenile, immature, cowardly, but perfectly acceptable in the game world. So of course, someone's going to do it as often as they can, because they have no spark of life inside of them. It's cotton balls all the way down.

There were no middle lines - just a few seconds between coming under fire and getting to the pad.
