Attacker got his rear end kicked

This is what makes this game fun, and we need more of it.
Player decided I'd be a good target. He's got an engineered FDL and I'm in a puny Viper MkIV. Easy kill for him, right? But I decided to scoot under a system authority ship and see what he'd do. Would he play it smart and hold off firing...Nope!

My first mismatched PvP kill in a Viper MkIV. Kewl.

Very nice! Although it looks like the both of you had some trouble navigating those asteroids... And I'm surprised he didn't use more chaff.

Nice Cmdr!

I just posted a question on this forum asking about Canons then watch your vid....May i humbly ask what Engineer mod you have on the turreted canons and what special effect is on them?

Left is short range blaster with autoloader, right is overcharged with high yield, and both have premium ammo +30% damage.

You're doing it wrong herc.

When another player has the audacity to shoot at you, you immediately log out, come to the forum, and drown us in salty tears; using the word "griefer" at least 12 times.

Turrets aren't a thing for the less skilled necessarily, just another way to play. But a different skill is required to make them effective on a small ship. Myself I prefer to have direct control over what and when I shoot (and more don't shoot) the target, but if you can make them work for you, great. We all fly our ships our own way.

Ewww turrets. Do you lack the ability to properly aim or something?

Turrets aren't about your aiming skill, they're about getting maximum time on target, and in a ship that changes direction like a frog in honey (haven't actually tried this experiment - maybe they're incredibly agile in it?) like a Viper MkIV or a Gunship, they can make a lot of sense. Personally I thought they looked awesome, swivelling around right in front of the cockpit.

No-one's mention the advanced disco scanner half way through yet. For my, that was the highlight. Exploration and PvP coming together in perfect harmony [money]

Absolutely! I have Efficient or Lightweight Burst Lasers on my Fight-a-Python - she's a bit too slow in the turn to keep gimbals on target (very limited engineering on the thrusters), let alone fixed, against smaller ships like Vipers or Eagles. Turrets mean I can keep up a blistering 4-gun dorsal battery on target for much longer (with one underslung ventral laser for "first strike" shots against shields), which means they are less likely to get the chance to survive, speed off, and wake out.

The skill is keeping the target in the "non-rotational" fire arcs (the turrets work fairly quickly left-to-right and up-and-down, but not at the same time, and their yaw is slow).

I'd rather finish the job quickly (especially when time is money like in PP or BH activities) and move on than chase someone for ages trying to get them into a gimballed/fixed firing arc!

All I can do is point and laugh.

Good for you, CMDR.
May that fellow have been flying below rebuy to boot! Serves him right.

You do know using Turrets does not make you any less of a person? If the Cmdr wants to use Turrets just what is your problem? Is it a manhood thing again?

Hang your head in shame for such a comment!

Seems like a strange choice for a small agile viper though.

And once again my presumptions and thoughts regarding gankers is confirmed, it is just plain and simply sad.

Good kill commander.
