Attacking "Green" Wanted ships: Will this effect Rep ???

Sorry if this is a dumb question, lol. If I find a Wanted ship amongst a friendly faction (Green), will attacking this ship effect my standing with said faction, or is the Wanted tag an absolution for any negative action in this case? Thanks in advance to all/any that respond :)

I shoot at green wanteds all the time and I have not seen significant rep swings either way. I've just watched as my wallet grows. If they have a bounty and are wanted in that system... light 'em up!

It doesnt appear to affect you negatively. Iv been out hunting a fair bit and not noticed a problem. The only part to worry about is that typically once you attack a green, they will all show up as red on radar and come after you. I think the game mechanic doesnt work fully since the NPCs dont then become wanted to attacking an innocent bounty hunter

I don't think anyone really knows for sure but I've done it and the little arrow doesn't turn red nor does my rep with the faction drop. I would think it would but it doesn't seem to.

Just be sure to either scan it before you shoot, or let it shoot you first.

I think the only time you really see any negative faction reaction is when you take missions from the BB system that asks you to hunt pirates, etc.. and turn those in. At that point you will sometimes notice red arrows for some factions if it benefited their rivals in the system.

You won't get neg rep but anyone allied with him will turn from green to red. If you're hunting in SC then no worries, if at nav and extraction points then it can get...complicated.

The arrows next to the factions do point down when I hit ships allied to a certain faction, even if there are bounties on them.

Not sure if my rep actually goes down, but the rep arrows seem to indicate that way.

Thanks for input peoples, this gives me more to shoot at, lol :)

The way I experience it is this:
Shoot a green wanted two things can happen:
- His allies will turn red and not attack you.
- Police will turn red and either not or even attack you.
.
I consider this a bug in the system. Wanted targets should never make a faction turn red on you unless it's a pirate faction or one not aligned with the law of the sector (fed, alliance etc.).
.
Also it doesn't really give you more targets to shoot at - even if they attack you they'll only be worth 200 CR and while that is targets to shoot at it's usually not nearly worth the effort.
