Man, I really wish I liked the Cutter Ship Kit. Even at full price I wanted to buy one, partly to support Frontier and partly as a reward to myself for having finally bought the ship. But that kit is really not my cup of tea at all.

I very nearly pulled the trigger this evening on the discounted price, if only for the one element I almost like (Wings 2). But having looked at this YouTube video, I've been put off again. The gap between the original wing and the leading edge extension is something I could maybe live with, but the fact that the winglet doesn't align with the centre of the wing, coupled with it sitting on top of the nacelle decal, is unforgivable. Not only is it lazy design in the real world, it doesn't fully fit with the in-universe Gutamaya design either.

If ever there was a ship that needed a perfectly blended body kit it's the Cutter. Alas, for me this kit isn't it. If it had been more like the Clipper Variant 2 concept from this Reddit thread I'd have been all over it:

Prestige looks just like Pathfinder with a blob on top and yellow tips on the fins.

Although I am not going to buy new paint anymore, until they made the paint wear optional. My Cutter looks like crap atm, and I am not going to pay real money for a worn looking ship. Makes no sense to me.

You do know that at any station with Advanced Repair, you can, for a few credits, restore your paint to 100%?

Personally, I find the worn look to be something of a badge of honor, especially for working ships, like the Type-X series. They actually look great at 0% paint.

Yes, I know that. But there are no stations in the Bleethai YF-L sector. lol

And I understand that it is a matter of taste. I just don't like it. And when I am back home (Colonia) I switch the custom paint off.
