you may not be able to use Captain's log or see images in the forums at the moment....

You may be able to use a proxy to bypass the VM issue but, simply changing DNS is unlikely to improve things unless your SuperHub is operating in modem mode (not tried so cant confirm).

I've always had my router in modem mode and everything is working fine (and so very, very fast) here

are you able to set your router DNS to Google (assuming using VM/NTL at the moment) in order to see if a simple change of name servers cures the issue?
Probably wont as it looks like VM core routing is at fault..

8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 from what I remember?

Cool, that's Google public DNS so it is a core fault...
Proxies will be the only solution until VM fix problem.

DNS cache flushed (and happened to get a router firmware update for the asus wireless one, so definitely reset

Still not working.
