You can always keep them now and next week when 3.0 drops you should be able to trade it up at a material trader (at a bad rate) for datamind wake exceptions, the stuff you really need. (although potentially we will now need lower grade stuff also with engineers in 3.0)

You cannot sell it, you can keep it or discard it.

Next week you will be able to keep it, discard it or trade it for other materials of the same type at the material trader when 3.0 drops next Tuesday.
