If you know of this brand then you know they are really expensive.
I currently have a pair of HE400s amd was going to upgrade to some 500s. But then i discovered that Audeze will be releasing these new headphones for $700 (msrp).
Yes i know, some of you may think im crazy acting like this is such a good deal... Well because it is, even at that price. Audeze is like the Ferrari of the headphone world (minus spontaneous combustion).
Facts to google:
They are Planar Magnetic Headphones.
They appear to be highly efficient compared to every other planar to date. Meaning, you dont need a overly expensive niche amp to drive them. 102db sensitivity, 30ohm resistance, 100mm of driver surface area which equals a head cracking 130spl... If you love bass these should deliver, and finally a range far below and over human hearing. (10hz-50khz)
I personally have an ODAC+O2 combo and its the only one ill ever recommend simply because every spec on it is out in the open and test proven with real facts instead of buzzwords. That amp can output 250mW to left and right ear @150ohm... These headpones have 5 times less the resistance and their optimum input is 200mW-4W. But, you dont even need that amp either, these are good enough to play well with just an ipod.
Ive already got my money spent, im just waiting for it to release. Lol
