Did the audio mix change with Trailblazers for anyone else? For me, traffic controllers sound extremely distant, faint, and oddly position oriented (using Arctis 7 headphones). Meanwhile, the station voice (e.g. "No parking in the Red Zone) sounds much, much louder. Also, the sounds of boosting (Cobra MKV and Python MK II) is barely audible, as is the sound of supercruise overcharge. For the latter, I just barely hear the occasional beeping and hardly no overcharge noise from the FSD boost.
Disclaimer: This could just be me, as my computer had it's motherboard upgraded from a ASUS PRIME B650-PLUS to an ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI due to an issue with the former crashing. The motherboard swap was done early Sunday morning (March 2nd, 2025) and I hadn't played much since Trailblazers dropped.
If no one else is having this issue, and it is just me, does anyone know how to fix these settings? I've tried enabling DTS headphones and then disabling them again, and that made no difference. I also changed the audio level from normal to boosted; that did make everything louder (which was good), but the boosting and supercruise overcharge are still muted. Oddly, I can't say this change is completely bad, as other audio is absolutely amazing right now. The on-foot, in station, ads sound absolutely amazing now. It's weird.
Before anyone asks, all the latest drivers are installed. I also checked the settings for my steel series Arctis 7 (it has it's own app) and there were no settings there to adjust. I still have the new sonar system turned off.
So is it just me or did they make changes? Either way, anyone have suggestions on how to fix the audio mix? Only the boosting, supercruise overcharge, and flight controller audio are problematic. Everything else sounds great.
