audio immersion is epic!

I've not played a game that had audio this good. Putting on headphones drops you right into the cabin. I don't know if this has been tweaked for standard beta but its superb. Putting the cans on your head actually feels like your taking them off... If that makes any sense to anyone :)

In Premium Beta it already had the best sound engineering I've ever experienced in a game. I can't fathom how on earth they improved on it. Astonishing job.

Even right back at the start of alpha 1 the sound design was fantastic, and it has only improved with every generation. Stunning work.

just got my new audiostuffs (beyerdynamics custom pro incl mic & creative sonar dgx 5.1)

soooo looking forward to using it later today :D

I agree, I totally wasn't expecting the amount of work they put in the already very impressive audio of ED.

All in all, this is really turning out to be more than Amazing!

Having Elite's audio assault my senses in one of the trailers sealed the deal for me. Its a credit to the engineer.

The games looks and sounds fantastic and I mean utterly fantastic but my favourute is the new Boost sound its awesome! :D

Loved the new orchestral treatments and effects too.

My only bugbear is the new proximity (maybe impact) alarm: there appears to be a loud and very high frequency tone in there that is *extremely* unpleasant.

I actually had to take the headphones off.

But isn't that how an alarm should be? Wouldn't want you to actively try to impact something just to hear the proximity alert!

I knew someone would post something like that...

Of course it's an alarm, but in the game if there is an ear-splitting high frequency tone that causes players to remove their headphones, the devs might want to take a look at that.

I don't want to permanently lose any hearing acuity because of a poxy alarm tone.

Sorry, that was supposed to be a joke (the whole making you want to hit other ships?) :)
