For those of us who prefer realism over sensory input, may I ask that you allow us to disable all sound effects that happen outside of atmosphere, but not the ones that are inside?
For instance, you would be able to hear other ships activities while inside a station, but now while outside of one, as the stations have atmosphere.
But while in deep space, you would only hear things hitting the canopy, the ambience of the interior of your ship, and the muffled sounds of your engine transmitting vibrations through the hull and into your cockpit's atmosphere.
Likewise, weapons would be muffled as they are outside the canopy, but still transmit some weak vibrations into the cockpit atmosphere.
This would make for some epic "Interstellar" or "2001" style moments as you can see things happen, such as explosions, but not hear them, creating a void of sound that makes the visuals more stressful.
Anyone with me on this?
