Australia wishlist

Like a lot of other Australian players adding more native species is a big priority for me, which are very necessary for making native fauna parks and realistic zoos set in Australia. Last week in the hype leading up to the release of the South-east Asia Animal Pack I created a visual wishlist showcasing a batch of 16 Australian species that I would love to see come to the game as habitat animals (including their IUCN classification and potential biome tags):

Most of the animals here are interchangeable with related species, eg. common wombat for southern hairynose, matschie's tree kangaroo for goodfellow's, lace monitor for perentie, etc etc. These were just the first representatives on unrepresented groups that jumped to my mind.

As the title in the image suggests this is an unrealistic wishlist, and I only expect a few of the animals from this list to make their way into Planet Zoo officially through general, non-regional packs. Although I sadly don't see it happening at this stage (there are other regions more people would prefer to see fleshed out, and that's ok - the game wasn't made to cater to me), if an Australia Animal Pack were to be released this would be my optimal roster:
1. Platypus
2. Short-beaked Echidna
3. Tasmanian Devil
4. Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat
5. Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
6. Emu
7. Perentie
8. Frilled Lizard [E]

Additionally, I also love the alternative idea of an Oceania Animal Pack as some people have proposed, which would allow our NZ neighbours to also get some representation:
1. Short-beaked Echidna (AU & PNG)
2. Tasmanian Devil (AU)
3. Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat (AU)
4. Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo (PNG)
5. Emu (AU)
6. North Island Brown Kiwi (NZ)
7. Little Penguin (AU & NZ)
8. Northern Tuatara [E] (NZ)

I've been lurking for a little while so sorry if this is a bit of a ramble, I've just been longing to get my thoughts out :)

Love both lists but I’d also like at least one more macropod (other than tree kangaroo) and can think of at least 3 i’d like included:

Grey Kangaroo
Bennett’s wallaby
Yellow-footed rock wallaby

just not sure what animal(s) from your list I’d replace since they’re al so good!

I absolutely agree - it was a tough toss up between including a tree kangaroo or another more conventional macropod, but given we've already got the Red Kangaroo in the game I decided to go with the tree roo. I'd be perfectly happy with any additional macropods however!

The missing Australian animals that I want are:

-Emu
-Tasmanian devil
-Any wallaby

Other Australian animals aren't common where I live, so I don't really need them, although I understand that for other players they are important. I don't think they will release an Australia 2 or Oceania pack, but I'm sure we'll get some more Australian animals in future DLC.

Tasmanian Devil and Frilled Lizard are the ones I want most, then Platypus.

Kiwi, Emu, Tree Kangaroo, Rock Wallaby, Echidna, Moloch, Taipan, Funnelweb Spider and Victoria Crowned Pigeon are also high on my wish list, of course the Lyrebird as well!

I'd definitely want everything listed, plus the Grey Kangaroo. I think though for me my main wants would be a Wombat species, Tasmanian Devil, Platypus and Emu. Especially the first two. I have my doubts the platypus will make it into the game, but I think the other three are totally possible.

I did something similar to this list in this thread here! Although now that I've seen it suggested, I would very happily trade the brolga for a lyrebird. I'd love to hear how Frontier would interpret its mimic calls.

I'd definitely prefer the yellow-footed rock-wallaby over the grey kangaroo, though. I think it'd be so neat to build rocky habitats for them and see them be able to traverse that, similar to the dall sheep. Grey kangaroos are a little too similar the red kangaroos to be a valuable addition to the game for me.

I'd go with the Oceania pack, only for more representation. Very nice pack. I also agree with adding Lyrebirds and Yellow-Footed Rock Wallabys
