I can tell you that while situation here in Oz is bad in certain places, it's mostly under control now and I can tell you that it probably won't be a topic of conversation by the time such a pack comes out. (Media seem to have extended the coverage of this one a bit too much overseas I think, especially a contrast to the fact the Amazon was burning profusely for several weeks with little coverage).
Australians in general are also pretty generous, so donations aren't really that much of an issue, especially with the amount of overseas cash so far.
WWF reckons a billion animals have died in the fires (a suspiciously large number for the minimum burnt 10.7 million hectares (107,000 km^2), or 1.39% of the Australian landmass), but if you want to support a charity, you can't go wrong with a wildlife one, considering they're useful outside of current events.
