Jumping on with the same theme as the DLC 2 packs is the Australia 2 pack. Thanks @NegativeHeli for the “Africa DLC 2 Wishlist. I can really see this being a reality and certainly hope we see most of these added. I’ve kept it to Australia rather than Oceania as the first pack was Australia. However at the end I’ve included some oceania species that would be considered.
First on the list is the highest on the metalist, the largest carnivorous marsupial, the Tasmanian Devil, a staple inclusion to any Australian Zoo and a major conservation effort is being made to keep these guys in the wild.
Unsure how this next one wasn’t included in the original. The Emu. Common is Zoos all over the world the second largest bird in the world would be right at home in any walk through enclosure.
The third species on the list would be the Common Wombat, as the name suggests this is the most common of the three species of wombats and classified as least concern this would be more likely in zoos across the world. With the addition of burrows this little guy would be right at home. Plus square poos, who could say no.
The beak of a duck, the tail of a beaver, laying eggs and venomous claws. Surely this mythical creature has to be added to a zoo near you. The Platypus would be introduced with the inclusion of some new underwater feeders.
The next spot up for grabs could be taken by one of three species, the fresh water croc, the perentie (Australia’s largest monitor) or the one I’ve gone with, the Lace monitor. With the additional ability to climb the tree goanna would add something new to the existing large lizards in the game already.
The second last habitat species could also be taken up by several different species (quokka, greater bilby, possum), however I’ve gone with another popular inclusion to any Australian zoo. The short beaked echidna, who wouldn’t love watching this guy dig into the ground and get some rest whilst protected by its spines.
This last spot is reserved for another macropod. Eastern grey, Bennett’s Wallaby or Swamp Wallaby could all be contenders however I’ve gone with the Yellow-Tailed Rock Wallaby. This wallaby just looks great. Plus it’s ability to navigate all types of terrain it could even use the ibex’s rock enrichment.
Now I know the Lord Howe Island Stick Insect has been rumoured, how could you have a pack come out so close to Jurassic World 3 without including the Dilophosaurus….. I mean the frilled-neck Lizard. Would have to include one animation of it running from one end of the exhibit to the other. What a sight.
Oceanic inclusions.
If this was to be a Oceanic pack one or two of these could be switched out for any of the following.
An oceanic pack wouldn’t be complete with out the Brown Kiwi. This little flightless bird would be perfect for any nocturnal house.
The Goodfellow’s tree Kangaroo found in the rainforests of New Guinea would be a welcome addition. Either this species or the Matschie’s Tree Kangaroo would allow for some great arboreal enclosures.
Another New Zealand native, the Fiordland Crested Penguin would add a third penguin species. It’s beautiful yellow crest puts it apart from the other penguin species already in the game.
Lastly a rarer species in zoos, the common spotted cuscus. This strange little creature is found in New Guinea and the tip of Australia.
Would love to hear what you think. What animals would you want from the Australia animal pack/Oceania Animal Pack?
