Horizons Authority Ship jumping in on wanted SRV!

Hi CMDRs

Was wanted and going about my business destroying some skimmers and suddenly a authority vessel jumped in on me.
And an Anaconda at that.

It needed about 2 mins to destroy my SRV.

Has that happened to someone else?

Because I've been plenty of times around wanted on the surface of a planet, but that happend never before.

Cheers

Are the skimmers from a settlement or a base? Because there are times that a cop is parked in one of the landing pads (if there are) or circling around the base, land somewhere near the base then logoff/login or switch games modes back and forth until the cop disappears. If the cop just wont go, what i do is wait until i get a smaller ship, lower ranked cop and destroy him before i actually kill the skimmers :D

If the skimmers are from a POI, like a crashed ship or some are with canisters guarded by skimmers then no, cops shouldn't appear even if you kill those skimmers, well this is just from my experience.

I was going from one POI to the next when the authority ship jumped in on me. Was at the nearby settlement first destroying the generator for a mission. That's why I was wanted. But there was no ship whatsoever at the settlement.

After destroying the generator with my ship (dumbfire missiles) I flew out some 40 km to a POI and started driving around. While going from the third to the fourth POI it jumped in on me.

Try to get to bumpy terrain. You might watch the Anaconda struggle with its manoevers, huehue. I had this once - the Annie dropped while I was landing my ship to deploy SRV. I disembarked, dismissed ship and watched a clumsy whale scraping across the rock.

That's a good suggestion but I was on a very flat planet. 360 degrees the same terrain. So nowhere to hide.
It still needed 2 mins to take me down although it had a lot of burst lasers on it. Put all distributor points to systems and the shield even recharged nearly to full when it had passed and turned for the next attack sequence.
But the next pass it took them down and with the next two it degraded my hull to 0.

My error was that i was driving a straight line instead of going zigzag. But the planet had very small G (~0.06) and I always seem to turn around myself even when i only steer slightly on full speed.
Next time when something like that happens I plan on going slower but zigzag. Maybe I survive longer then.

This is where being able to call in your ship launched fighter (SLF) and/or your ship (with NPC control) to protect you would make some great gameplay. Make it so, FD !

Yup, I've been wanted, not near anything, and cop checks me out. I was near my ship. I just boarded and left. I didn't want a major bounty. SRV or ship, a bounty is a bounty.

Authority ships do patrol on planets sometimes. So do pirates. I often see them just as I return to my ship. They might be triggered by that.

Well I recalled my ship at the POI I was before to load some cargo but dismissed it again.
Like two minutes after dismissing my ship again the Anaconda appeared. Maybe you are right.
