Auto dock fails to complete landing

I'm trying to use auto dock to land at Farseer, Inc., but when I get to 11.3 meters from the pad I run into a hard stop. Can't get closer, can't complete the landing. What's up?

I had that trying to land a Cutter at one of the Engineers, can't remember which one. It looked like the computer was trying to take me through a valley that was too narrow and the wings were getting stuck. Dropping the landing request and getting another one routed me to a different pad and all was then OK.
