If you use the exterior cameras (F1 on my PC key bindings), you can track the landing. There's a momentary glitch as you enter the slot as the view is obscured, but it recovers quickly.

So many features, such a lot to remember...
Try using the "unlock camera" option ( numberpad "0"), then you're controlling the camera.
I always find it fascinating to watch the landing gear deploy, then sink into the landing pad!

A cinematic mode might be a cool addition. Basically an AI director that shows some cool shots of your ship taking off, landing, flying through space etc.. without you having to manually move the camera around. Of course you could still control it manually as well.
While the idea is cool if one is into making YT videos, I can't see any "realism" in it. Unless you have a drone you fly outside the plane you're flying on and film yourself during takeoff and landing ;-) It's still a cool concept though. Pre-determined camera flight paths with autopilot. Remember that you can also fly the ship in outside view, to a degree (not all functions are available, but enough for takeoffs and landings.
