auto launch and auto docking with exterior cinematic view

If we have auto docking then why not auto launching, and as an extra bit of awesomeness have exterior views on this. Thoughts before bump to suggestions?

Auto dock is going to have to have work done on it then, you need to be ready to take control away from the computer or lose your ship.
I don't trust it.
So NO - I don't think much of this idea at this time.

It'll never happen. It's not that it's a bad idea, it sounds like it would be quite pretty (though I wonder about the novelty factor after a few launches); but Frontier have said on a number of occasions that they want the entire game to be perceived from a first person perspective. They've said that they're prepared to add in an external view for taking beauty shots of our ships, but that they will rationalise it so that they become drone cameras rather than just a button that give you a third person perspective as in FFE.

I think part of this is to make the transition to first person foot camera in the first expansion seem more fluid.

Half the fun is trying to doc, I played the original back in the day and that was hard I think more commanders were lost during docking than anything else!

I'd love a "station security feed" you could connect to when docking/undocking - open up a little window on the hud, showing what the traffic control people see as your ship leaves the port.

You could pretend you'd docked in Babylon 5.

My problem with docking is you can't see what's below you without turning upside down. I think the dock target computer should react long before you get to it. I hate flying blind.

Also the Dock number lights tend to disappear, so, you don't know which port is yours. I wish you could have the docking computer without wasting a slot. I wouldn't want it, if I could see my landing better.
