We don't need to cater to Gold Sellers and BOTS. If you are tired of jumping from one system to the next Upgrade your ship and Than Engineer your ship so you have a longer jump range.

Please, next time Start using Frontier Search Feature before posting topics. Advanced auto pilot system

Frontier will never implement auto pilot in the game.
infact someone made an auto pilot mod for the game and frontier gave them a cease and desist and ordered them to take the mod down.

So you buy game that is all about flying a space ship. and now you want to remove the flying part? Sounds like you skipped on doing some basic info gathering about the game prior to purchase...

I can already see the post from you if this would have been implemented, someone (NPC/player) interdicts your ship and then proceeds to destroy your ship, and now you would be here all furious about how you just had to pay a rebuy cost and how you also lost all that data/cargo, failed mission etc., and you wasn't even present so that you could handle this situation....

I can somewhat understand the reasoning for wanting this I'm sure by the year 3000 something as simple as auto pilot would be implemented yes its a space game where you fly space ships but on the other hand sometimes you have very very very very long trips repeating the same task over and over again and you get burnt out. I would not mind the addition of an auto pilot system but I can also see the reason for not having it its one of those things where its good and bad. In the meantime just get yourself a good ship for exploration/jumping something along the lines of a Diamond Back Explorer , Anaconda, Asp Explorer, and just engineer it for that role you can quite easily get those ships to at least 60ly+ of jump range pretty easily.

Of course they would have if they had FTL travel, but Elite is not about life in the year 3000, Elite is about life in the Elite universe, and that's not the same thing by a long shot. I mean I could go as far as to say that as far as science goes at the moment there is no way to travel at FTL speeds and no real indication that will change by the year 3000, but fortunately Elite is a game, not a simulation of real life so we can do that, and that game doesn't include an FSD auto-pilot, and many people are happy with that even for long distance travel. I mean there's a thread running now about a player who accidentally crashed into a planet and want all his explo data back, multiply that by 1000 if we had auto-pilot. Flying spaceships in the Elite universe requires personal attention to the controls at all times or a vastly increased chance of destruction.

My response is also no, but I suspect it won't stop the requests for it:D
