Hi. I am the developer of the 3rd party application EDCoPilot, and I have a question I would like someone at FDEV to answer for me.
With reference to the Terms of Service and its mention of automation, what is the FDEV position on allowing a utility to automate multiple Fleet Carrier jumps in sequence? Assuming the user left their game running , could have the software wait for the cooldown period to end and then lay in the next jump in the carrier route. Jumps could then continue to be scheduled until there is insufficient fuel left to make the jump. Users could periodically check back in on progress, and top up their Tritium levels if they wanted to keep jumps working.
Some automation is permitted in apps like HCS (and EDCoPilot), like requesting docking, targetting subsystems or plotting to a system, but would like to know the position on this one please. I cant think of any reason that this would give players an unfair advantage in the game, which is what i believe to be the intent of the automation mention in the ToS.
Thanks for your time.
EDIT: I think I answered my own question here, and checked a few prior threads (which i should have done before i posted) : answer : most likely not acceptable because the user is not physically at their pc while this is running.
