Available but unobtainable missions - throw me a bone here!!!

OK I'm officially frustrated. I've given the game an hour of my life for a night for two weeks now and cannot make any headway. No missions are available for me why is this?

For a pilot starting out ferrying some coffee shouldn't be a high trust required mission - it should be the type of mission that GAINS trust for crying out loud. I'm just not getting anywhere with stupid game.

BAH sorry but I'm just flipping tired of spending every night traipsing around not being able to trade and not being able to take missions.

Yes it looks pretty but GIVE ME A BREAK WITH THE MISSIONS I REALLY WANT TO BE ABLE TO DO THEM.

There ARE altruistic missions without reward designed for just that. They just add rep.

But if you are experiencing this mission problem continuously, probably just move few dozens lightyears elsewhere...

Various reasons. Not enough faction standing, too small cargo hold, no permit for destination system (if they ever get that detecting right)

Many factions will not give you even the simplest missions unless they trust you somewhat first. Try flying about and killing some wanted NPCs in their space. Collect enough bounties and your reputation will increase so you can start doing the lower level missions to work your way up.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Throw me a bone here... I've been seeking the elusive rank mission. And every time it shows up either a) not high enough status with the minor peon faction, b) not high enough rank as explorer/trader/combat by one level. I've been playing for a while now, hours every day, and still 100% rank nothing in the Federation. I'm a Master, Broker, and Ranger, and I can't get the -ant intro to the Federation mission? Do I have to grind until I'm friggn triple elite before I can start making some headway in the Federation? And if so, what's the flippin point?! If I can buy myself an Anaconda before I can be allowed to buy the low end Federation ship why bother?
