Newcomer / Intro Available but unobtainable

I'm trying to find a mission I can run in the game, but every time I dock, the mission list just shows missions that are available but unobtainable (I assume this means I'm to weak to do them), or missions requesting a ware, that I have no idea, how to obtain. And I did check the market, but they are not ever selling the wares I need.

Is there a good newbie zone to start in? I completely forgot which zone I originally started in.

Also, is it possible to delete my current pilot, and create a new one? I don't see that option anywhere.

Thanks

A good question.

No, there isn't a newbie zone, per se. But if you fly to other stations and check out other systems you will eventually find work that is appropriate for your level. In one career start-up it took me a solid hour before I got my first job. The very next restart, I got a job right away.

You mean "restart" as in created a new pilot? How did you do that? I simply don't see an option to delete my current one. I only ask, because I've built up quite a debt from landing pad loitering, which I didn't realize I was doing, at the time.

I saw a pad with an active holo, and kept trying to land there, without realizing it wasn't my pad; but some NPCs pad

The mission offerings don't take into account your strength or weakness. Nor do they take into consideration your ship, other than cargo space and jump range.

When a mission requests a particular type of goods, keep that mission page open and go to your galaxy map. from there you can use the filters to select just that one type of ware.
Once you have trade information from different surrounding systems, the more traffic a ware has the better it will show as arrows. Which point from the system exporting to the system importing.
Once you've pinpointed a system that you can reach which sells the particular being asked for in the mission. Select that system as your destination (to not lose track of it).
Then return to the mission page to accept. Take into account the time available to complete the assignment. Anything over one hour should give you enough time.

Then back in the galaxy map, check the system map to see the stations within the destination system. This will give you an idea of which station will be the one selling the items you're after.
Then zip over there, buy.. and come back to the station you took the mission from... Then enter the bulletin board to deliver the cargo.

Good Luck.

Check you haven't accidently accepted a mission and your cargo hold is full. In which case all trader missions will be unobtainable. I did this and took me a while to work out what was wrong. I'm still having lots of newb problems.. and I thought Eve was hard.
