Avatar creation in Elite Dangerous

Would you like a more advanced creator than just changing skin color and hair style?

So we know it's coming, however we do not know how it will be.
I hope it will be a long the line of the video below. That will bring variety to the Galaxy for sure.
What do you think?

Going on what we've seen already - it's only head/face that's up for amendment.

Interested to see what it'll actually be.

I don't think we'll be able to shape our bodies ( a fat commander can't fit on the pilot's chair after all) but given the fact that with 2.1 a lot* of faces were added to the npcs I think it might have a lot of customization options

I am not sure we need to be able to give our avatars big feet or anything like that. I would like the avatars to have a wide range of faces, and top half of their bodies(clothes etc).
Makes a joke of the process if there are like 4 faces and 5 face clothes(hat, glasses etc) to choose from.

I wanna be a fat old trucker, because T9 breaks for no one :)

The survival suit is as universal as the HUD, it would seem.

Whilst I can see us being able to change the colour - I very much doubt we'll get to change anything else. Or for anyone to be wearing hats, sadly! :p

I'm pretty sure we'll be able to change more than hair style and colour and eye colour. The faces already in the game have a lot of variety to their geometry so that is a given.

About bodies, I don't know if we'll be able to customize that but it would surely be a nice addition.

A lot's of choice with face details and hairs/beards/accessories i think plus different outfits (colors and insignias).

You don't know what you can squeeze down if you really want to, it's all about will power.

It will be interesting to see how exactly Frontier implements the mechanic to be honest. Since the character wears the helmet at all times inside of the ship as a safety precaution against decompression we'll never get to see the actual physical representation beyond a simple avatar icon in the menus until we get walking in stations (if that ever happens).

I really hope that, as things progress, the personalization options expand with the game. It'd be nice if I could look down in my cockpit and admire my fuzzy bunny slippers (WHICH SHOULD DEFINITELY FIT ON OVER MY SPACE SUIT BOOTS) before I step off to my SRV.

In my humble opinion you should be able to take it all off, then if the cockpit glass breaks you die :)

FD will miss out a huge revenue in the future if they don't consider this. People want to customize and they also are willing to pay for it.

Absolutely no point at all until walking around and even then questionable worth.

Even one more ship would be a far better addition than a whole creator system.

Actually our characters only wear a helmet when the canopy breaks
