I wanna be a fat old trucker, because T9 breaks for no one
....and naturally some form of American baseball cap to wear that reads "whoop and holler" on it.
and a plaid/chequed shirt
I don't think we'll be able to shape our bodies ( a fat commander can't fit on the pilot's chair after all) but given the fact that with 2.1 a lot* of faces were added to the npcs I think it might have a lot of customization options

It will be interesting to see how exactly Frontier implements the mechanic to be honest. Since the character wears the helmet at all times inside of the ship as a safety precaution against decompression we'll never get to see the actual physical representation beyond a simple avatar icon in the menus until we get walking in stations (if that ever happens).
I really hope that, as things progress, the personalization options expand with the game. It'd be nice if I could look down in my cockpit and admire my fuzzy bunny slippers (WHICH SHOULD DEFINITELY FIT ON OVER MY SPACE SUIT BOOTS) before I step off to my SRV.
The survival suit is as universal as the HUD, it would seem.
Whilst I can see us being able to change the colour - I very much doubt we'll get to change anything else. Or for anyone to be wearing hats, sadly!
You don't know what you can squeeze down if you really want to, it's all about will power.
