Average number of systems in a sector?

Hey folks, this may have been asked and answered somewhere I am sure, so apologies for being too lazy to go back through the forums to try to find it in advance. Does anyone happen to know what the rough average number of systems per sector is? Obviously even this number would vary (a Coreward sector vs a Rimward sector for example) but was just wondering, as I consider taking on surveying an entire Sector, and estimate how much time might be required. ;-)

As you surmise, the number of systems is very much dependant on where in the galaxy the sector is. Sectors near the core contain many millions of stars, those out on the rim maybe only thousands - but still more than anyone could reasonably expect to do without devoting months to it. If you're after surveying an entire sector then you should go for one that surrounds a non-procedurally generated feature as those are much smaller than any of the entirely procedurally generated sectors. I scanned every body in the NGC 6326 Sector but that only had 102 systems in it and is probably one of the smallest sectors as it is a long way below the galactic plane. Those in not so sparse areas will have several hundred to a few thousand systems in them.

Ta - that is exactly the sort of approach I was hoping to take out towards the Rim somewhere.
