Dinosaurs General Gameplay Aviary and Pteranodons are Disappointing ! : Ideas for Improvement.

Like many other players I expected a lot about pterosaurs. and I was very disappointed.
concretely the pteranodons are useless. And the aviary reminds me of the old Windows screensaver with the fish in the aquarium which passes in front of the screen. There is no possible interaction with pteranodons, they have no needs, are never sick, never dissatisfied, never hungry or thirsty, they are unable to pose the slightest problem and when they escape they fly into space and you never see them again. Even when the aviary has been destroyed with the pteranodons in it they simply disappear (whereas it would be more logical to have to sell all the pteranodons before destroying the aviary). The aviary cannot be personalized like the other enclosures. For an addition also expected by the players, it's really sad.

But I didn't come here to complain (well, not only, lol) I have come up with ideas to help devellopers make aviaries and pterosaurs as interesting as the other creatures in the game.
let's go :


The Aviary : The aviary is a particular building which shelters particular boarders (because they can fly). the idea would be to make the gamplay of pterosaurs similar to that of dinosaurs, but how do you do that?

One solution would be to make the aviary behave like a mini-map (a map in the map). we could move around freely and select the object (and animals) that is inside as usual.

the Aviary would not already be "furnished" as it is now, but just an empty cage: It is up to the player to fill it with perches, like big rocks, platforms and big branches, dead trees.
As in a normal enclosure, we must put a puddle there so that the animals can land on the ground to drink and also eat fish. As for the spinosaurs, we will put fish feeders in the water and the pterosaurs will land on them (like the spinoraptors) and catch the fish with their beaks. Or better yet: a new type of feeder that would release fish directly into the lake. The same principle as goat feeders but with fish! the pterosaurs then come to catch the fish on the surface as do the gulls today!
An opening on the side of the building, allows the guards to enter the aviary to fill the feeder (s).

escaped pteranodons can be anesthetized and replaced in the aviary, or even anesthetized IN the aviary to be moved to another aviary. how to do ?
Many solutions : - The guards fire a flare on the ground which attracts the pteranodons which will come to land nearby. once on the pterosaurs on the ground, the guard shoots a tranquilizing dart above and the animal can no longer fly away and fall asleep.
- In the case where a guard team or the helicopter arrives to anesthetize a pteranodon in full flight, this one will come to land gently on the ground before collapsing asleep.

To move a sleeping pteranodon I see 2 solutions:
- the helicopter comes to collect it and deposits it in the aviary by an automatic opening (like the enclosure doors) on the top of the aviary.
OR a new solution: A truck comes to recover the pteranodons and transfers it by the ground towards the aviary while returning by the same opening that the guards use and releases the animal inside. The same moving trucks could also be used to move small dinosaurs (like in JWFK when they transport Blue in a truck).

We can imagine that the aviary works like a normal enclosure and could be over-saturated. in this case the pterosaurs will react by fighting between them! For that we could imagine several aerial combat animations. for example: a pteranodon flies just above another, dives in a dive on it and tries to pierce its wings, then the roles are reversed. Or then 2 pteranodons face each other in the sky and give each other pecks while doing on the spot, or losing altitude, then stop before touching the ground, gain altitude and start again until one of the two dies in the sky and crashes to the ground. The truck come to recover the corpse.

Once escaped, the pteranodons do not disappear towards the sun but but STAY ON THE MAP!
you will tell me that IRL an escaped pterosaur would go very far away, and you would be right, but it is really bad as a gamplay. (And in the movies the free pterosaurs do not leave the island either. watch the pteranodons at the end of The Lost World and the pterosaurs who are waiting for the Volcano to explode before deciding to leave in Fallen Kingdom).

So the escaped pterosaurs remain on the map and interact with it.
For example: They fly above the map, land to drink in the lakes (even in the enclosures of other dinosaurs), land on the buildings and sleep on them. and attacks the guests ! and of course, they can attack and swallow very small dinosaurs such as Compys or Homalocephale. They can catch fish in the fish feeders, or catch free poisons in the lakes from the new feeders described above.

Here is ! it's a bit long and I probably forgot things. I love this game and I wanted to give my help to devellopeurs to find ideas to improve the game. I think that pterosaurs deserve better, and so do we.
especially do not hesitate to give your opinions and added things. I try to think of things in such a way that it is simple to set up.
I really hope the developers will read the post that took me some time to write.
