Aviary, Aquatic Park, and Glacier Park

If map size is limited per island, I think it's best if JWE will add/create a map exclusive for Pterosaurs. Also, it's interesting to see exclusive maps/sectors for Aquatic Dinosaurs (Aquatic Park) and Prehistoric Mammals (Glacier Park) similar to Jurassic Park Builder by Ludia.

I mean, Prehistoric Kingdom is slowly getting there. I Frontier is doing a great job in Dinosaur AI elements (interaction with other dinos and stuff), but yeah, it would be cool to navigate to our own Aquatic Park/Glacier Park like how we navigate different islands.

Thoughts?

I'm guessing you've been on Radio silent for a little bit.

There's a sequel announced now, it has Aquatic and Aerial species as being just in the same parks as land animals, but also larger maps. The idea of a Glacier park for cenozoic species is also a bit strange in the sequel's context, given the Boreal Forest that's already been shown off being relatively close.

From what can be told, mammals are not among the species for base game, the only creatures for base game seem to be dinosaurs, aquatic reptiles & aerial reptiles.

Although the novel opens up the possibility for Ice Age animals in the franchise - after all, the first extinct animal cloned by Ingen was a dwarf elephant - I don't like the idea of Jurassic Park adapting extinct animals that didn't live in the Mezosoic. In fact, I've always found it strange that no competitor of Ingen has created a "Megafauna Park", considering that Ingen has a patent or something that prevents other companies from cloning animals from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous. But to me, putting Megafauna animals to interact with dinosaurs sounds a lot like "Skull Island" or - worse - a SyFy movie. It's cool, but I think I couldn't reconcile it. :v

Anyway, there are many species of dinosaurs and aerial and marine reptiles for the franchise to adapt. I think Frontier should focus on that. Or, they could adapt ice age animals into another game or dlc.

This would be a dumb idea even if it wasn't confirmed that land, fliers and aquatic animals can be mixed... like the separate eras in JWE, but worse, your splitting up the animals that can be added.

Also, contrary to popular myth, most Cenozoic animals did NOT live in an ice age environment, so putting them all in a glacier park would be ridiculous...

Yes, I know there's a sequel. That's why I post it here in JWE2 board. I find it weird to mix Aviary and Aquarium in a Land Park. But yea, a man can dream. Anyway, as I've mentioned, I'm hoping Frontier to develop the park similarly to Jurassic Park Builder by Ludia. Well, that's where I just got the idea of a Glacier Park. Probably name it as a Cenozoic Park something. I get what you said species for the base game. Chill. It's just an idea/request.

Well, that's your own perspective of the game. Well, I grew up playing Jurassic Park Builder and was astonished by the concept of aquatic and glacier park (referencing them, but Cenozoic Park would fit). However, My idea is that Frontier make a new island exclusively for pterosaurs, marine animals from the Mesozoic era, and mammals fro the cenozoic era

But what's the point? What's the advantage? What good comes from forcing players to choose one group of animals and telling them they can't use anything else? Here's an idea... if you wanna create a park with just dinosaurs, you make a park with just dinosaurs... if you wanna create a park with just aquarium animals, you make one with just aquarium animals... if you want an aviary park--which isn't even something Ludia did, they put the aviaries in with the dinosaurs... well, you do that too. Meanwhile, everyone else will enjoy using everything they get wherever and whenever they choose to... because giving us the choice to do that--which is what they gave us--makes far more sense.

In general, having things permanently separated, when they don't absolutely need to be, is going to be unpopular (take the era split for sandbox in JWE1).

I'm sure there'll be maps, either in base game or DLC, that lend themselves to being specialised to a thing, but permanently forcing a specialisation is a bad idea.

Also all cenozoic species should never be restricted to the cold, a good chunk of the cenozoic was warmer than today, there was forests at the poles for a good third of it.

Even just considering the Pleistocene (the mostly cold bit), the entire world was not ice, all the modern biomes existed, it was just proportionally more dry and cold places.

Prehistoric Kingdom has not announced anything about Aquatics or Flyers, despite the devs wanting to add them eventually.
