Aviary feedback and ideas

(Link to another thread)

So, aviaries and lagoons are quite interesting to use, the way they're built and stuff. Unfortunately, once you set them down and out some viewing galleries, you kinda move on. So, here are some fun little ideas that may or may not get implemented:

  1. Dividers - lagoons and aviaries take up a TON of space, y'all. And maybe times, even if it says compatible, the animals inside will fight other species in a shared enclosure. Of course, it's also expensive and takes up a lot of room to have a second building. So, what if we have specials fences that can divide up these enclosures, therefore exhibiting more species with less space
  2. Snap on hotels - these could be special hotels that double as viewing galleries, of sorts. They can snap on to the side of the aviary/lagoon, offering a nice view and adding guest capacity
  3. Kelp - no need to add anything here
  4. Aviary walkways - see the link at the top

Btw we already have a general lagoon thread. I would propose to rename this thread to "Aviary feedback and ideas" and pin it alongside the lagoon thread. That way the threads for lagoons and aviaries don't get out of hand and we can collect all ideas, feedbacks, proposals etc. in one thread, where Jens can easily see them. What do you think?
@HeatherG could you maybe do this for us?

I've posted my ideas concerning the JWE1 aviary interior in the 'Aviary walkways' thread linked above, but forgot to mention that the possibility to have a kind of fog generating machine that gives us the possibility to create a foggy atmosphere in the aviaries, alongside the catwalks and huge rocks from JWE1, would be a stunning addition to the game. I've seen an old thread on reddit where people were asking for this content, with the pictures below:

I made a thread a while ago that's also kinda related to this. I suggested that it would be nice to have the viewing platforms snap to aviaries and lagoons. But yeah, having hotels snap would be really cool as well.

You know what would be amazing... If we could place paths in aviaries and they would automatically turn into closed walkways like these from the first game. And yeah, the tall rocks as well are kind of a must. Especially since we have the perching mechanic for the pterosaurs. Even just a straight up reskin of the perching pole that looks like a rock would be straight up amazing to have.

Yeah exactly! They could maybe be connected to the viewing galleries and/or could function like the tour ride paths. Like make them placeable and let them join with some kind of entrance building that is directly connected to the aviary walls. There the guests could enter those aviary paths and catwalks and walk through them.
That would be so amazing. I sincerely hope we'll get this or something similar. I mean, the models and stuff is there, it was in the first game, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

Currently the aviaries in JWE2 feel more like biodomes honestly, instead of proper aviaries. Another nice addition would be the ability to make water flow through the aviary walls. Such a water exit was seen in the JP3 aviary:

It would be really nice if such an exit could be automatically created when you make the water flow outside the aviary.
Even in JWE1 the aviary was much more detailed and faithful to the movies:

Please introduce these changes to improve the aviaries.

It certainly has been a while since this thread was formed.

So, we now have the ability to release pterosaurs into the wild by using the "Release via Airlift" option. That's a fun little improvement.

But, I have another request: aviary doors.

I got this idea based off of the hatchery glitch that Evolution Square found in her playthroughs.
What if we had these doors you attach to the dones, similar to the gyro sphere doors, that act kind of like jeep gates. These can be used for jeeps to enter (although it won't be safe) and also to move dinosaurs in and out of aviaries. That way, instead of using the glitch, we can use these doors to manually stock our domes with land based species

Love snapping the hotels and walkway ideas. I think the main idea in the 1st book was to have a hotel attached to the aviary I believe.

On a sort of related note.. since they just allowed us to release pteraurs into the wild... can we officially be allowed to place the other dinosaurs into the aviaries? That'd make them all around more useful and give certain areas of the park you use them in much more zoo like feel.

I have missed this kind of layout as the imposingly large and tall rocks highlight the sheer height these pterosaurs could fly, I think the game was to introduce biome-themed stone pillars and stone archways, we could have some very dynamic aviaries and tours. Plus the ability to place in walkways would be superb.

I also made a thread once upon a time suggesting that we could have fences connect to the aviaries, that way we could have neighboring enclosures making most of the available space, while also providing a more seamless transition for tour rides.

Lastly, I think having the ability to modify the terrain in the aviaries and make some deep pits and valleys could make the interior of the enclosure more unique compared to the often flat layout, plus the added airspace from lowering the ground level would be great for housing the more titanic sized quetzalcoatlus.

Yes exactly, without the enclsoed walkways the aviaries are just not complete. They could be placed like normal pathways but would automatically turn into those enclosed walkways within aviaries, leading from one end to another.
At the aviary walls, an entrance would connect the path outside with the walkway inside the aviary, similar to the tour gates that are already in-game.
