Aviary or fan favorites DLC?

I would without a doubt prefer an aviary pack for December. New mechanics is what in my opinion makes a pack more worth while. Additionally, it seems that Frontier approaches Planet Zoo’s December DLCs as the ones that are the most game-changing (likely because of the surge in customer holiday spending). We saw this last December with the Aquatic pack and diving mechanics and I’m sure we’ll see something similar this December.

All that said, I still wouldn’t mind seeing and buying a “fan favorites” style DLC at some point. Although I’m not totally sure that Frontier would give such a pack that sort of a name and advertise it as something being solely designed around fans’ input and not some other underlying theme.

If we get aviaries, I think it has to include more than just 8 species to feel worthwhile. 8 only barely covers the most common bird archetypes found in zoos, and as a result would allow for almost no variety in that aspect of zoo building since everyone who wants to use aviary birds would end up using them all every single time anyway. We already see this with traditional habitats with certain species like the capuchin monkey, where a broad zoo niche is only adequately covered by a single species. I'd hate to see it on a wider scale with birds. Even if it means a lot of near-clones (three or more different macaws? multiple owls that are behaviorally identical?), I think having a lot of variety is the most important thing for aviaries. Obviously as many distinct species as possible would be ideal, but I do think that quantity is just as important as quality in this case. They're such a major addition that I really do think they should be a "go big or go home" thing. That is, I'd rather continue ignoring flying birds entirely than get the bare minimum and trying to make do with them in every single zoo.

Don't get me wrong: I really, really want aviaries! But I also want them to be done justice. So if it's between 8 birds or 8 random species that are popular enough on the forums, I'd go with the latter every time.

The consumer, naturally. Shifting gears from the current DLC setup and focusing on additional aviary packs or including aviary birds as part of 4+1/7+1 packs would surely bring about DLC fatigue much faster than dropping a single $20(?) DLC release before returning to form.
