I suspect I'm not the only one who this happens to, and yes I know it's technically my fault but that doesn't stop me from at least asking
I play over two screens, Elite running full screen on one display and a browser (often with Discord and other DW2 related things open at the moment) in the other screen. I'll often hit the jump key, then move the mouse over to the other screen whilst the FSD spins up.
What sometimes happens is that I don't quite get the mouse over to the Elite window quickly enough, so that I boop the star, or I do get the mouse over quickly enough but in my panic I hit the left mouse button which causes the FSS to open (doh!) with subsequent panic trying to exit and steer away from the star. This seems to happen even if I set the joystick throttle to zero when switching to the other screen.
I suspect changing the angle that you come out of witchspace at so you're not pointing directly at the star is too drastic a change, so I'd like to suggest that if the game does not have UI focus that the throttle defaults to zero, instead of full throttle? I don't think that's too drastic a change, and would certainly reduce the number of incidents.
Either that or allow repair limpets to repair the power plant!
