AX Krait Build - Practical Application of Guardian Hull Reinforcements against Thargoids.

There's been a persistent claim that Guardian Hull Reinforcements are not worth using. While this does have elements of truth, it is also not entirely correct, as I laid out in my previous thread, Why Guardian Hull Reinforcements may be worth a second look.

The build: https://s.orbis.zone/hb3q

This build is a modification of the commonly-accepted 'meta' krait build(https://s.orbis.zone/hb3t). It gains 36.7 effective module reinforcement, 49 caustic hull, and the AFMU and Repair Limpets both repair 22.7% faster/more than on the standard build. This means that, rather than repairing 310 effective hull in 100 seconds, it instead repairs 380 effective hull in the same time period - after a single repair limpet, you'll be 119 hull above the meta krait, and it will only get better from there! It also gains 2ms speed and 3ms boost speed over the unmodified build. It is also significantly easier to build, not requiring any hull reinforcement engineering whatsoever.

Now, it's important to note that Coriolis does NOT account for caustic resistance on modules, but in game, they do apply. You need to divide the listed number by 1-resistance; in this case, 501/0.815 = 614.7, rather than the 501 stated by Coriolis.

Now, a few caveats: This build IS about 16.6% weaker against thargon missiles. However, since the build includes flak, there should be little reason to ever encounter them. Commonly accepted practice is to kill the swarm before engaging the interceptor, unless you're running flakless; since this build does use flak, thargon missiles should not be a significant downside.

More importantly, this build IS slightly more vulnerable to canopy loss, due to lower multiplicative module protection. However, because the module reinforcements themselves are significantly more durable, chances of accidental canopy loss should be low. Most of my canopy losses take place when I briefly lose MRP protection during a failed attack run, which should be very unlikely with this build. Because the resistances stack on top of the G5 module reinforcement, it should significantly reduce any danger of losing your module reinforcements while distracted.

On the flipside, his build should be significantly easier to acquire, since it removes the necessity of engineering three of the hull reinforcements to G5, and compared to partially-engineered builds, it should be markedly superior.

I think the statistics speak for themselves. Guardian Hull Reinforcements are a perfectly viable way to do AX combat, if used in the correct context, and I hope others find this build useful.
