B-class star-less corridor?

Hi everyone.

I'm not sure if this has been covered on the forums before but I couldn't find anything about it. Has anyone else noticed the bizarre strip of the galaxy that contains no B-type stars? To see what I mean, try setting your map filter to show only B-type, go to Mylaifai RI-B E20 (just one star at the edge of the strip that I picked out at random), zoom out a little and look around. Moreover, do the same for Dryaa Flyi PI-B E382 to see the same on the other side of the strip.

Am I missing something or is that really weird?

Maybe something overlooked in the procedural generation of the Galaxy? Can you provide a screenshot or explain it a bit more? I'm unable to check this atm. as I'm not at home.

Sure. I hope the contrast stands out well enough in this image- the deep blue attributed to b-type stars isn't the best for starkness.

Try moving the galaxy map to the right (in that case). You'll find only a certain volume of the "cubes" that make up the galaxy map will populate, and if you are right on the border of that "cube", you often won't see anything in the one next to it.

HAving said that, there certainly are areas where star type just drop off like that.

Z...

Yeah I've already tried that. If I move the map directly to the right from as it is seen in that image, there's a gap of approximately 700ly, before the b-types start again as suddenly as they stopped.

Furthermore, my ship is in that strip and just approaching the edge of it- it looks to me like as if b-types might be the culprit for sights such as this...

What is there instead of the B class stars? Is it definitely all a PG region, or are there a lot of HIP, HP etc stars?

It could be that this is one of the areas where unusually dense catalogue material is available, so the normal distribution of B-class stars is being suppressed.

I don't see any difference in the names of stars- as far as I can see all names seem to be the usual procedurally generated code names (like Mylaifai RI-B E20). But I'm just going through the star class filter one by one to look for other patterns as well. There's a much greater concentration of A-type stars along with the B-types, although there is some A's in the B-free strip. There's also much fewer L-types in the B zone than in the strip. Other star types seem unaffected. Pictures attached.
