Baby animals

It was stated that baby animals would at least stay with their moms. I am not seeing that. I saw one interaction between a baby bonobo and her mom but other than that babies don't even stay near mom. As soon as my baby elephant was born it ran as far from mom as it could get and has no interactions with any adults nor does it stay close to mom. Completely unrealistic. I'm not expecting nursing and such but just having the baby animals stay near mom (as it was said they would) should already be in the game and I'm sad it's not.

Does anyone else have the babies actually hanging around mom instead of fleeing?

When I was playing the second career scenario I noticed the baby primates all went off and did their own thing and that bothered me in particular because of how most juvenile primates spend most, if not all, of their time clinging to mom. The lack of interaction between animals bothers me in particular because we were told directly that would be implemented in the full release... But it seems like it wasn't.

I did see some positive interactions but you essentially have to spend a few years just following one animal without looking away at all to catch a single positive interaction. Babies staying near mom almost seems like a seperate issue. They should both interact with mom (saw this once) and stay close by. Mom should follow baby if baby wanders. Bummer, hopefully this will be fixed soon.

I’m noticing the same so far. As soon as they are born, babies run away to another area (for no real reason) and that’s often the last time I see them even being close to not only their mom, but all the others. They don’t seem to a knowledge other babies, and veeeeeeery rarely get an animation with an adult at all. If wasn’t for you saying you saw a little bonobo interacting with his mom, I would be sure they don’t even recognize who their mom is.

I'm not entirely sure the interaction was due to it being the mom 😅🤦‍♀️ Eventually I saw another baby interact with another, non related adult as well so it could have just been random chance that the mom grabbed the baby and started grooming it. Obviously the interactions are there at least.

All my baby animals are running around like adults. Everyone’s ignoring everyone, which is disappointing, but it’s worse to see baby animals have no contact whatsoever with their mothers. Hopefully this is patched soon.
