And make the surfaces less dead and more like NMS? Why not. Really, anything to spice up surface play.
NMS surfaces are cartoonish at best, no thanks.
This is like half of the reason I want to land on Earth likes and water worlds. I can be playing jurrassic park or subnautica while playing elite!
Imagine you land in some thick jungle to deliver some data to a station, its too thick so you have to walk, and you get ambushed by a TREX like beast! Youre running and screaming and shooting at it but it doesnt have a health bar so you have no clue if youre hurting it.

I mean we can dream but really, Elite is kind of chugging and I don't think FDev is keen on cramming another game into it.
They managed to cram 5 other games that wasn't in the KS into the game that was KS'd. What's another? 
Hmm... well actually that IS what I always thought it might be the way to introduce things like earthlikes, etc...
Bolting on some Planet Zoo or Jurassic world like game sections to at least bring on some selected worlds or better said part of worlds to land on and to experience some atmosphere...
So if you're going to land there, there may be some form of (hopefully short...) "transition" and you're landing your ship in Elite: Jurassic World X...

For sure, If we can't have the OP's full idea implemented (that would be crazy, and fun), at least have dino's for the dash boards, not on a spring. I have been wanting dino's on my dash boards for awhile, all because of Wash.
