Babysteps

I just came across my first system that has no "discovered first by" tags.

I know, I know - that's hardly an achievement. And yet, I feel I finally made that step into the unknown!

Don't need to move mountains for it to be an achievement :D

Once you hand it in, the knowledge that there's some corner of a distant system that is for ever Bartmoss is a buzz.

Even after a few trips out into the black, I still get a smile on my face when I come back out of the bubble to the first system with no tags :) May you find interesting things out there, Commander :)

Yea, you'll get hooked soon enough :) For me it got to the point where I won't even bother scanning stuff that's been discovered before. Have a great trip and find lots of ELW's!

Yeah! I will celebrate - but only once this has been handed in :)

Thank you! This is all so new and thrilling :)

It gets even better. Wait until you find your first untagged ELW :)

Thank you guys. Yeah I am now already avoiding discovered (tagged) stuff. I am not very far away yet, but yeah, will be cool to find stuff other than chunks of ice.

Double-planet Terraforming candidates.

Good enough for my first trip. Finishing scanning this system, then I'll head home!

That was quick ;) If you're worried about someone claiming the untagged systems, don't be - if oone else has been there by now, odds are it'll be a good long while before someone else comes along :)

Well I guess it is a needle-in-haystacks thing. But no, I am rather excited to get my first tag! ;)

Haha, fair enough -the first thing I did after returning with my first tag was to go back and see the system with my name on it ;)

But they will likely not be taken by someone else. I got all my tags from my last trip, which was almost 2 months :)

Congratulations on your successful baby steps, Commander. Well done. Now, if you want your name on more stars in this galaxy there's only one route to glory....deep space. Stock up on pot noodles and beer, and jump deeper into the galaxy. Its all out there waiting to be discovered.

18 Kylies from home, I've only seen maybe 5 or 6 pre-discovered systems in the last 1400+ jumps. Pure virgin space. So, put Sol to your back and start jumping, Commander. Start writing your name across the sky.

Space madness or Glory awaits you!

Thank you! Yes, that's the plan! I just wanted to get my feet wet. I first went to Spica, then the Pleiades, now this. I think I am ready.

Or both. I want both!

Glorious space madness?

Anyway, I told you I wasn't far away, and I am back already:

The entire system was worth just under 200k, without the explorer bonus.

And I was so excited I didn't even notice the system had a total of FOUR terraforming candidates, two in addition to the double one I mentioned before.

Add a metal rich world, and a Metallic asteroid belt, and I am actually quite happy with this find.

Too bad I can't name the system and worlds.

Don't blame any of us when you're up at 4am and saying to yourself, "The next jump has to be it" NO, NO Sir Cmdr., don't put that evil on us.

Way to go. great pic also.

Funny how quickly that mindset takes hold though, I'm in the Bubble for a while yet, but the jump-range on the DBS is enough for me to be tempted...one more ELW or a terra formable metal rich planet....
