Back after a sabbatical - what have I missed?

o7 Commanders.

Following an enforced break of a couple of months, I'm back in the action and ready to deploy.
If anyone could tell me, what is the shape of the Galaxy right at the moment?
(Anyone who says 'spiral' gets a slap! LOL)
I mean in terms of updates, politics, Thargoid activity and any significant changes (such as VO's now paying 3 bucks at the best buyer...lol)

I have been away for about two months. If you could bring me up to speed ABOUT those two months I'd be grateful - thanks. :)

Well you missed the spread of a blight across a lot of the core systems around Lave. You missed out on a lot of Alliance/Fed efforts to mitigate the effects.

You missed the September update, you lucky thing. It actually broke the game for many players, tho 3 patches over 3 weeks managed to fix things again! But at least the new player experience is a bit more encouraging now, so the noobs will hang around a bit longer (or until their first gank anyway!).

And yet most of us put up with the problems until FD fixed most of them and went right back playing the game.

You missed the OPEN LETTER FROM THE COMMUNITY! Which led to fleet carriers getting postponed, which caused some salt, tho most players seemed happy that FD were going to be working on outstanding bugs and delivering better updates going forward, so the OPEN LETTER may have been a good thing... time will tell.

You missed a minority appointing itself to speak for the majority.
Some seriously bugged update code - negated by some rapid fixes.
Some of the best forum PvP in weeks...
The delay, once again, of new content, in order to comply with the demands of aforementioned minority - complete with an announced 'beta server' resurrection..

So not a lot really...

In a nutshell, that was about the fallout after the September Update came in crashing - and troops on the Ground (surrounded by nasty Bugs) also learned that the Search&Rescue Operation was called off (Carriers)
