Back after long hiatus, CG reward question

Hey guys, been a little while since I've played ED but I am back now and on PC. Unfortunately my Xbox progress isn't going to do me any good (goodbye fleet).

That said, there used to be CG rewards that would make faction rank specific ships available for limited time, is this still a thing? I am trying to make a B-Line for the Imperial Courier is the reason I ask.

If not, are there any new/current ways to rank up quickly within a faction? Thanks for the help

Nothing at present that unlocks specific faction ships.

Fastest way to rank up is to do missions, etc.. until you've maxed out the Imperial minor factions in a given system, then move to another Imperial aligned system and repeat the process.

So I'll have a maxed out Python bank wise by the time I unlock the courier..... great...... some things never change hahah. I was really hoping for a consistent way/grind to rank up factions through combat since the mission boards are all over the place as far as what is usually available. I always hated spending the time to land and finding a board full of cargo too big for me to haul, 5k data deliveries, and mining material requests. You'd think bounty hunting and declaring for Empire factions in CZs should have an effect. Thanks for the reply man

If I recall, I think bounty hunting will also rank you up fairly quickly with the local minor factions as well. Finding a good system with a few RES locations to play in is also a good way to pad the credit account.

Yeah I've scraped together a quick 11 mil in my first 2 days, nothing close to the 500 mil and change I have on Xbox. I really miss my ships lol. Any good hiRES Empire spots you know of? Its been so long I can't really remember what used to be good. I at least feel like I am making more money than I used to, 1.5 mil+ per run in a Viper is much better than I remember.

Sort of, you can have your account networth transfered(Total value of all your assests). So you could at least rebuy a lot of stuff.

They count the entire networth to my understanding. So all of his assets will count towards his credit balance on PC. Not a direct swap, but pretty good. Beats starting from scratch.

I bought the PS4 version this weekend, and one thing I noticed is that it used my PSNetwork name for my Commander name (GreyAreaUKScot), so I'd guess there could be overlap on Commander names between the platforms and PC/Mac.

Should I be able to actually choose my Commander name on the PS4? I don't recall being given an option for that.
