I am back from my trip to Sagattarius A*.
I was more and more excited when I came closer to the bubble. What could I expect? Are there any pirats? Do I make it in one peace? Can I make a successful docking after that long time in deep space?
I had some handicaps. My hull was on 87% and there were cracks in my window. Don't know if I could survive another crash or emergency stop. And I have a broken hand, my right hand. Of course, because I am right handed :ermm: It is not easy to use throttle and stick with my left hand only. Could be a hard docking.
And I heard about the attack on an explorer in Sagattarius A*. Reasons enough to be afraid.
I decided to fly to Atese, the system is save and far out fom the bubble in my direction. I jumped into the system and was happy that there was no other ship in the system. I took the direction to Miyasaka Ring, the closest station to the main star. But there were 1,400 ls to go. Time enough for things going wrong. I got the warning that there is a new contact. My heart was running, I checked the contacts console...it was an ASP, NPC, most likely that this one is no thread.
It took a long time to get to the station, especially to get in safe disengage range to leave supercruise. I was always checking my radar.
But finally I got safe to the station and into the no fire zone. First time to take a breath. And also the docking was succesful, slow but safe.
On the station, I went directly to the office of Universal Cartographics. It took 38 minutes to sell my exploration data. But it was worth it.
I took a really good route on my trip. First I went up to the top of the galaxy, as far as I can go. I scanned almost every planet. When I reached the farest point I could go, I decided to go to the center of the galaxy, the famous Sagattarius A* system with its supermassive black hole. I decided to stay on the top of the galaxy to have a better chance that these systems were not discovered.
First, navigation was hart. The stars are very far away from each other at the top of the galaxy. I had some dead ends and had to fly back. Even with my jump range from 34ly (37ly) it was not easy to find a way. But it got better when I came closer to the core. And it is so beautiful how many stars are in the middle of the galaxy. If you look out of your cockpit, there are so many white dots.
For navigation, I filtered the galaxy map for neutron stars to get a better chance to find black holes. In some areas, there are a lot of neutron stars. But after a while I stopped scanning every planet, it took too much time. I looked at the system map and when there were planets that looked like water worlds or earth like worlds, I scanned them, but not the other ones.
After I arrived in Sagattarius A*, I went 1,000ly down and got back to the bubble at a low level. This increased the chance to find undiscovered systems.
And you know what, almost every system was undiscovered. Now there are some systems with my name.
But know to the facts, I earned 39,354,662 CR. My explorer rank increased from Trailblazer to Ranger (jumped over the Pathfinder rank
).
I found

[li]12 black holes[/li]
[li]8 earth like worlds[/li]

You can have a look at my footprints and the systems I visited on E-D-Footprints. On this page you can see a list with all systems I have visited, tagged by special POI like black holes. And you can see a map with my trip.
I also have an album with some nice pictures.
