Back since xmas to find.. exactly zero it would seem

So I had a break of two and a half months and just logged back in to see what's new.
Accepted two very short courier missions. Went from one station to another and made 80k on slaves.
Had to exit to single player because the station docking still isn't fixed and there were too many queuing.
Still, feels far too easy to make so much for so little...
Didn't bother logging back into open play because what's the point, all it adds is queues.

I don't really know what I was expecting but my re-entry to the ED universe was underwhelming to say the least.
This game still feels like 90% tech demo and 10% entertainment.. I think I better wait another few months and see what they add.

Wings patch is coming in 2 days, and there was a big 1.1. patch with tons of changes and bugfixes.
All stations have a fixed number of landing pads, small, medium and large,AI also uses the same pads. You cant fix it because it isnt broken.

I suppose it depends on your definition of broken. I'm shortly going to drive and get Sunday lunch.
I may well get stuck in a traffic jam on the way, which to me is not entertainment, but may be to others..

Don't lie through your teeth please. 1.2 is shaping up to be a very interesting update indeed, but 1.1 brought virtually nothing. Community goals are a joke, just yet another progress bar with no meaning and bringing no depth to the shallow game mechanics. And they were the most significant part of 1.1. The rest were minute changes. 1.1 was purely a bug fixing update, with the laughable community goals rushed and tacked on to keep the community busy for a few weeks.

Waiting an indefinite amount of time to access a game feature is a pretty terrible game mechaninic, which you can safely call broken.

You are clearly exciting people to be around, and make a real contribution to society.

Please don't waste any more of your imporant time indulging us here on these forums about Elite Dangerous.

The world needs your contribution more than we do, you are no doubt helping to make it a better place.

Take another few months off at least, or maybe longer.

Some of us like this game.

Flying 1.2 Beta 3 right now. All I can say is, get on as soon as it's live, and take it for a spin! Loving it myself.

If you do, please report back your impressions of ED 1.2... and show off your external screenshots, of course. ;)

but 1.1 brought virtually nothing.n.
Greatly disagree.

Community Goal was headline feature, but for me updates to Cartography were main things (First discovered by tag, faster way to sell data). City lights and improved planetary shader (clouds etc). New Route planner. And friendly fire system so if you accidentally fire someone they don't become hostile. IMO great 1.1. Plus many bugfixes.

At least your not giving up and thats worth something!
Wait a few months and return then if you need big changes to enjoy the game, though we might not have any of them even by then.

But 1.1 mainly brought alot of bugfixes and adjustments.
1.2 will bring many new gameplay mechanics central to co-op and multiplayer. It has gotten me excited again at least, but it still doesnt contain any major gameplay changes so if your bored with the game as it is now, chances are you will be bored with it even after 1.2

That said, I encourage you to return during next week and give 1.2 a good solid tryout. Flying together with others makes even trading or mining a much more fun and social experience.

Seems.. underwhelming as someone who isn't a die-hard fanboy (thanks for stopping in MSP.. you may now leave)
They made some fixes to maps, and added some new graphics by the sounds of it..

Wings wont make much difference if he has no friends !

Yep, that's right.. I like the idea of what they're doing but IMHO I don't believe they've yet created a game experience.
As I said above, a very impressive tech demo, but where's the game.. It seems to me they have yet to add the 'entertainment' bit.

Enty
There are other things in 1.2 than Wings. Like debug camera, 2 new ships, and improved comms (like local chat) + many little things (i personally like how you can now see NPCs faction in main target panel).

We have to remember that developing updates takes time. It has only been 2 months since Christmas holidays. I'm personally very happy how 1.1 and 1.2 have turned out, and fingers crossed that this will continue at same pace.

If the only thing you can think of to do with ED is play errand boy and collect credits the game is going to remain boring for you indefinitely. I have no sympathy for people who can't get beyond step 1.

Personally, the city lights and stuff like that could be left for now. Most of us want content rather than aesthetics. Yes, it looks nice, whoopee, hooray. Does it add anything to the game play? NO! That sort of thing could be a change brought in with planetary landings.

Yesterday the parking lot of the local supermarket was full, real life is broken! :|

Seeing changes implemented in 1.1 and 1.2 makes me think that current fundamental flaws within the game will be fixed pretty much never.

Step 2: use your imagination?
Step 3: it's just alpha/beta/gamma the game just got released! Give them some time!

If RL wasn't broken, we wouldn't need to refil our batteries by explicitely dedicating part of our free time to entertainment.
