Back to Obsidian Orbital

Just saw tonight that Obsidian Orbital was repaired. Awesome effort Commanders!

I was very happy to land in the station and get the mission mail from Palin, grabbed it happily and went off to make some credits for the first time in what feels like forever (it isn't; I'm being overly dramatic). Wow. The Nerf hammer struck again. I was "rewarded" with 10% of the previous mission payout. I love this game, but it feels like another job now.

Please Nerf the Nerf hammer. Make people happy by lifting them up, and not by bringing everyone down to some arbitrary level of "fairness."

You are welcome.

I was possibly considering that I might head back to Maia if the Palin missions ever got going again but apparently FD just wanted everyone to grind to get the station back up again for no particular purpose. All FD seems to be capable of doing is setting up massive grinds that lead to nowhere simply so players will meet targets for whatever "metrics" they seem to think we should be meeting. The only reason for players to get Obsidian Orbital repaired was to get the Palin missions running again, which were maybe giving average incomes of 30-35 mil/hr or so, but instead all of those players basically did yet another massive grind for no real purpose other than because it's all that FD can seem to come up with for "gameplay".

This is exactly why my Elite playtime has gone down to zero since 3.0 launched. FD quite simply has no respect for players time and effort and this was made abundantly clear with the nonsense we've seen with 3.0. The Palin missions were far from the most lucrative activity in the game but were a popular source of income for many players. It turns out the station attack was just another planned nerf hidden behind yet another grind. Yet for some reason the ridiculously ludicrous exploits that we've heard about on the forums since 3.0 launched provided far higher incomes than anything Palin was giving out and somehow managed to get through the "testing" prior to launch.

Oh that's too bad about the level of the reward nerf. Maybe making them 1-2MCr per each item would be more reasonable? I had good times doing those missions in a specifically outfitted FDS the Blue Bison. Made a few hundred million credits which provided me with enough capital to outfit my Type-10 Defender.

Yeah the nerf and low availability of single player missions has put a bit of a damper on things. So I went on another expo loop and netted myself 90 Million :) other than that when in bubble, now I don’t bother with missions that are on the up and up unless they’re worth at least a million. Besides doing that, honesty in that game doesn’t pay anymore. Smuggling? Ooooh yeah you can make some moolah doing that. Preying on systems in outbreak by selling them basic medicines at hugely inflated prices? You bet.

OMG Nooooooooooooo
I left my Python fully kitted with a large number of the special cargo racks there so i could do some more missions. I just found out about the Palin missions a few days beore the attack so i have only done about 3 runs.

I actually hate Fdev ...... i have never hated a dev b4. Every time i find an enjoyable activity in this game fdev stop it or nerf it. I honestly feel as though Fdev is the enemy, not the Thargoids.
With all the issues the game has right now I was contemplating taking another year away from the game. If the Palin situation is true. Well im out

The missions are still there that you enjoyed so much so you should be happy......they just don't pay as much but surely you wouldn't let that stand in the way of your enjoyment.

You can make 30 mil an hour pretty easily bulk trading.

Considering that I’m extremely lazy....from where to where, hauling what, in what, with how many tons of cargo space.

And if you say a 720T Cutter, then yes, you are technically correct, but contextually giving some people (sub-billionaire types) false or missleading hope, perhaps!

Just saying.

It's worth noting that, now there are bigger CR cargo racks, it's much easier to repeatedly farm that mission. I guess that's part of the reason the payouts have dropped.

Well then whats the point of the larger CR racks in the first place. Not having a go at you, I'm mad at Fdev
