Back up save games

Hi everyone,

As you might know I have some YouTube series going on and I really want to make sure I keep my save games. Right now I want to do a fresh install of Windows since my computer is having some issues. What is the best way to back up all my save games so I am not going to lose them? Especially my franchise one?

AFAIK your save files are not deleted when reinstalling the game; however, to be 100% sure just backup the files in C:\Users\m\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Planet Zoo\number\Saves to another folder. The game's save files end with .zoo, the rest are blueprints.

If you are using steam, I would recommend checking if steam cloud saves are enabled. It is still definitely worth manually copying the files from the folder to a safe location while making big changes like reinstalling windows, but if steam does it for you it might save you some time and worry now and in the future!

I second what marcnesiumHH and craftymutt have already said. Steam will usually take care of this for you via the Steam Cloud, but it's always smart to have a hard copy of your save folder. I would do both, just to be on the safe side (no pun intended).
