Backer Boot's Trip To Nostalgia

I've begun playing the original Elite again using a Commodore 64 emulator. I think it has been about 27 years since I gave this game a run but like riding a bike you never forget.

I thought I was doing rather well due to surviving all my engagements and achieving a perfect docking record. Well that was the case until tonight when I met my match in the likes of the wrong Asp. Serves me right though, for out of all the fights I have had so far, it just happened to be this one in which I was the aggressor.

No E.C.M. = No Boot

It is amazing how playable this game actually is, even after almost three decades.

It is still a lot of fun.

This is the emulator I have been using.

I found the C64 game at Ian Bell's website.

When saving the game it is important to always use a different file name as the emulator does not overwrite files. I remember having the same issue on the C64 and the 1541 drive back in the day. I had a disk with literally hundreds of numerically ordered save games back then.
