Backer rewards and reduced insurance cost's for Alphas

Was wondering if we get the backer goodies and reduced insurance fees for alpha access as well on the 22nd...since gamma is the last wipe for Alphas and Betas....

Reduced insurance costs are a bad idea imo, having less to lose only encourages risk taking non normal behaviour like ramming and less consequences of just opening fire on anyone.

Less cost, punishment and fine reduces the incentive to abide by the law. People dont need any encouragement.

Unfortunately it was a Kickstarter promise so they can't renege on it, regardless of how bad the idea was.

I hope they do withdraw it, as I'll have my pledge money back and continue to play the game for £35, having already been through Alpha/Beta.

The insurance reduction was not a Kickstarter pledge tier reward - it was introduced as an additional reward to Alpha (and above) backers in Newsletter #18 (April 2014) a long time after the Kickstarter finished (January 2013).

Why is it a bad idea ?
Reduced insurance was gifted to we alpha backers as a token of thanks for supporting the game. It doesn't cost anything to anyone else & the trick is NOT TO USE IT !

I stand corrected. It was a bad idea in that it causes people to whinge about play to win. Free access to all paints jobs would have been better. :)

Wow!

I feel like an idiot for totally not knowing about the Kickstarter at all, then happily buying in at the 150 beta level... When if i had just got out from under my rock a few weeks earlier, i could've paid less and received much more lifetime benefits!

(Of course i am being sarcastic to prove a point).

I am happy with my purchase, and ecstatic as to my expectations being blown away.

I am perfectly fine with people who put money into the game (before it was a game) getting all of their promises met, as they should be rewarded for their faith.

But i (and most likely some others) may find it offensive to know or be reminded that simply because we were late a few weeks, or couldn't afford to, that the rewards are completely unfair in-game advantages.

I.e. I don't mind if you get a free stock Cobra as your ship replacement as opposed to the Sidewinder.

But i would find it hard to believe that Frontier would compound rewards to allow for less risk and more rewards to the luckily informed few.

I.e. Like get a stock Cobra, and credits, and lifetime insurance discount, and...

(Again, these are just examples to prove an uninformed point)

In light that the 'Mercenary Pack' details are even now slightly unclear, is there a clearly defined list of all rewards for all backers, so we all know what to expect?

Betas in other games have tried this reward type system, and in every single case, has always undelivered on it.

I know Frontier would *NEVER* underdeliver on anything, but if the expectations on exactly are what to be delivered aren't well defined... Then how can you deliver on anything?

Again, not a rant, but a request for informed clarification, please.

You shouldn't have said that as I'm now going to remind you at every opportunity! Just kidding.

Seriously, though. It must irritate people that I can go an get a fully equipped Cobra with all A class modules and when I crash it, I'm paying maybe hundreds of thousands, maybe a million less credits in insurance than them. I feel your pain. Imagine how that extrapolates to an Anaconda! Someone do the maths please.

Ahh yes, insurance!

How do I get LTI here?

Edit: holy crap, I rammed the station, got fined for illegal goods in two hours of play and my rank has improved from Harmless to Mostly Harmless! Meteoric rise!!
