Backers App - Quick question

When choosing a commander name, are we supposed to / do we need a first and last name, or just a last name?

I couldn't get Kipper, and figured either someone beat me to it (why you little...) or I had to have two names, like Kippy McKip or something.

Have people had success with one or two names, or both?

I've done 2 names... so i imagine its OK.. they will just split them.. its a manual process not automated...

Yeah, but there's no stated reason why it was turned down so I don't know how much to change it - if someone beat me to it, fair enough, but if they didn't, I want to get the format right so I can actually have my proper nickname or some derivative of it...

My commander has three names - like you, I couldn't get the simple single name (though I know not why).

I put in "Alien" and got it
So simple names do work.

My nickname is composed of two parts:
Dobrij means friendly
Zmej means dragon
However, I did not put a space between them, and have together, as in the forum.

I jonty'ed pretty late, and chose the Commander name of Kolt and got it, so I imagine that Kipper, was indeed, taken.

Me too, my commander name is composed of one word. My NPC name is composed of four words. Kipper was probably already took.

Be thankful that you weren't one of the (possibly hundreds) who chose to try and get Alan Shepherd as their Commander name.... At least Kipper is reasonably imaginative... Keep being imaginative and you'll get a Commander name to your liking

Yes, a list sorted in ascending order and update in real time of all the commanders and NPC names already validated, would allow, the new backers to make their choice more easily.

I tried to get Aaron Sheffield as my commander name, but it was refused - I think it was in use.

Eventually I got Heinlein as my commander name.

I did manage to use Aaron Sheffield as my NPC name.

Just give yourself a first name, like Chris Kipper and it will probably be accepted - unless Kipper happens to mean something very dirty in some obscure slang that the Frontier people happen to be aware of...

Erm... quite possibly. Try the urban dictionary (not that the UD is particularly trustworthy).

UD gives everyone a bad name. Just type "Marko" in there to see how unfortunate I've been with my name...

I could not get Bingo as I assume it was taken., so I had to use the full name. Cmd Bingo Brewster. My NPC name is also 2 words
