Backing out of system view in galaxy map without returning to current system?

Question about the controls in the Galaxy map: is there a way to back out of a system view without automatically going back to the system my character is currently in? I've been checking out already-explored systems on the outer edges of inhabited space looking for systems with Metallic belts and rings, and it's a pain every time you back out of system view to end up having to type a name into the box in the navigation tab to get back to the sector you were checking out. Is there at least a hotkey for "recently highlighted system" or something?

I do that all the time, go to plot a course but before I plot it I want to see if there is a station to refuel at, leave system view and BAM lost the system I was just going to plot a course to.
Thought I was the only one doing this.

I think its being upgraded until they are happy. We just got awesome features like route planning and settings memory in galaxy view. Move to suggestion thread when you want to suggest something. Looks lazy, and a bit stupid, to complain in general talk about things you arent happy with when we have a suggestion section. After all you want FD to see and take your awesome ideas seriously right? ;)

Seriously Starjump, your post would have been so much better had you not needlessly called someone stupid and lazy. Totally uncalled for and really does this forum no favours.

I will post about this in the suggestions forum. For the record, I asked whether there was such a feature as backing out of system view w/out going home, thinking I'd missed something. It seems silly to force "going home" when the galaxy map has a hotkey dedicated to centering on the current system already.

Maybe I mean something else but, when you select the system first so that one of those icons moves over it then it should stay focused on it.

THANKS, that worked! Don't know why I didn't think of it. If you click on the system in question it sticks and you back out with the same system selected. Hooray!

Ticket it ?
I get this and it's annoying as hell when plotting a route.

Its not really a bug, no need to ticket it, I am sure this will change over time.

This is true, however I like to check if the system I am selecting has what I need in it first as the route planner can some times bug when you change routes over long distance and when this happens you need to exit the map and re-enter it any way.

or am I doing wrong?
