Horizons Bad advice?

I take on missions and at least once a night I get a message to deliver the goods sooner for a bonus.
The time on the message is 0.0
How can I get a bonus when there is no time? Is this a glitch? Or sarcasm?:O

I also had in mind to get a Federal Assault ship. About 19 million credits. Outfit it and it is over 40 million credits. Insurance about 1.9million credits. And no jump range.[woah]
Should I stick to the Cobra?

Hi, mission update with time 0:0 is known and already reported bug. You can ignore it, you will get normally paid when finish mission (without bonus ofc).

If you want nice speed decent range, Cobra is good option. If you want better jump-range, look for ASP Explorer. Good comparison for ships basic stats (unmodded by engineers) is here, simply click on header to sort ships by wanted value.

I did actually manage to get one of these 0:0 bonuses once.. Because in effect it means less than a minute. If you're just in the process of coming in to dock when you get the message sometimes you can be quick enough.. Not so much if you've just arrived at the star...

The FAS is an excellent midsize combat vessel (very agile for its size) and can be an adequate all purpose vehicle with the right setup. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.

I usually fly my Python, but jump in my FAS if I want a more responsive adventure. :)

The only issue with the FAS is that it's a hull tanking ship rather than a shield tanking ship.. it's shields a bit pants compared to the likes of the Python so it's a bit vulnerable to missiles in 2.1. Even if you put all modified armor on it, it can still have it's drives blown out/weapons with just a couple of missiles. That said, I still use mine, if you have it fitted with all frags you can generally kill any NPC before they get a chance to really hit back.. With PVP it's now a high risk/high reward ship. You're either going to kill your opponent really quickly, or they're going to take out your weapons and you'll be forced to jump.

Yeah. I fly it for the agility and the looks to be honest. I love the cockpit. :)

Not the most sensible choice out there, but who needs sensible. ;)

An A rated FAS is going to run you about 65 mil total with a 3.4 million rebuy. It is a good fighter and with a grade 4 FSD upgrade I'm right about 20 Ly in jumps and with a grade 3 Dirty Drives I boost to 450 in my current configuration. If you want to do combat she is a good choice... The Asp not so much. I do a lot of mission running and lite trading with mine. I love the way she handles and flown well she can get you into and out of trouble quickly!

Should read 0h:0m:XXs, you will make it if you take the mission and go deliver it right away, it seems to be timed so that if you deliver with 0 delay you'll get the message as you come in to dock. Not that you lose anything anyway, but yeah, needs some tuning to be more sensible.

FAS is amazing, C rate it first for pretty cheap (it's still a beast) then build up, but if you're mostly doing missions I'd look to the Asp or stay in a Cobra or a Viper IV.

Got three of those no time limits last night myself. Just like I got a secondary that increased my ammo capacity by 0%. It just means they didn't limit the RNG on these things to not give zero.

If you simply wait in the station with the data for long enough, the message will respawn, so you can claim the reward if you're quick.

Can't get enough credits to go for the FAS so I'll keep with the Cobra for now. Just wish I had a bigger boom stick.

Thanks people.

I don't know if I should do this (resurrecting the thread and adding a text list) If not, me bad just delete it.
An ASP Explorer kitted out. Is this a lot better than a kitted Cobra?

I used an FAS pre-engineers but overheating, limited jump range and lack of flexibility made it not so good for me. I ended up making my trading Python combat ready with everything modded, 3 SB's, weapons with exp. effects MC's plus thermal vent laser, a-class modules. It can fry any ship its size and with lv 5 charge enhanced PD and a lv 4 (lv 5 didn't give the same roll reward) 40 MW PP so it can fire everything continuously on three pips and sustained on 2 pips for most encounters. Plus 200t cargo and modules for every type of mission. Drawback? It is 150 to 160 mill CR to get to what I have.

The FAS is gone and a Corvette has taken its place and is on the road to a-class.

And there you have it. It took me about 8 months and a lot of destroyed ships to reach 52,000,000. I keep grinding i suppose. I have not tried engineering yet. Although I'm afraid of losing another ship.
Thanks!

It is possible to complete them, I quite literally slammed my ship on the deck got to the mission menu & completed my mission after receiving one of those 0,0 updates, all on the XB1 (maybe time runs slower on them) lol.

If you buy a FAS, it will need Military Armor, which set me back 17 million creds. Honestly the shields are too weak for extended fights.

It would be much easier to do a few low level mods on a Viper IV, and have a solid basic fighting ship for the cost of the armor of the FAS. Dirty Drives 3 alone would transform the performance. Only the starting engineer Felicity needs to level.

I have recently had some times like 1hr. 22min. 15min. 55min. So it must balance out.

I have been trading to build up credits, but nothing has a decent jump range. I would like to try engineers, just for a jump increase. Then I can have a big cargo and long jump. But I have to get the decent ship first. Can't waste engineering on the Cobra.
