Bad judder near and on planets in 2.0beta with DK2 on GTX970

It seems when playing with this combination (dk2 + gtx970) it's not possible for me to achieve judder-less play near and on planets on 2.0 beta. Not even after lowering all specific surface graphic settings to their minimum.

Normally I can play ED without any judder with most settings set to high and supersampling set to 1.5x.

Anyone else seeing bad performance in combination with planetary actions?

Even without using the dk2 the fps takes a massive hit, regardless of settings. On an i7 4790/gtx 970/16Gb ram the fps drops to mid 40s on surface from around 170 in space :(

Yes, noticing the same with my Rift / GTX980. It's actually quite bad on my stomach, to drive around in the Scarab with this judder...
Hope the performance will get a fix in the next updates!

But boy, what fun! Loads of fun driving around on planets!!

Same issue, but thankfully I can handle it after so many months of play :)

It's all perfectly designed for the Rift. Shame that tracker reset button combo is missing.

I love looking out to the side when I'm bounding down the canyons, watching them roll by. Very immersive!

EDIT: I noticed it also does depend on the planet. Mitterand Hollow works beautifully, it was just the first one that was horrible

Looks like adjusting the 'Terrain Work' slider all the way to the right fixed it for me :). I'm now driving on Mercury without any judder with most settings set to ultra, SMAA enabled and supersampling set to 1.5x.

This seems to be working for people with high end cards.

Anybody feeling ill yet :) that darn 1.5 cockpit camera motion bug is still present! Had a brief mess around and docked with a planetary base at a ringed moon in Shinrarta Dehzra. Can't spend too long on it as I am quite battered from it all.. Looking great in places, huge potential..

Yes. I used to be able rift for hours. Feeling quite sick.

try the nvidia 358.70 drivers..im runnin' silky smooth on 2 670's after reverting from the 359.00. I also noticed the sli latency is drasticly reduced .

I've noticed that although this camera bug from 1.5 is still present, it also seems that when stationary and looking around, that the world/ship does not appear to be as solid as before, like tracking is off and not as precise. This may be present in the 1.5 Beta, as I only played it for a short period, then didn't return to it again, I'm hoping Horizons doesn't go down the same path. It really is an awful experience right now, plus the bugs with any jump in or out of hyperspace/SC still showing random flashes is there, and is now present when you jump out of SC to Orbital Cruise.

The kicker with this whole 1.5 camera bug, is that once landed on a planet and you are out in the SRV, the bug is no longer present, and so you can be crashing around into things and flipping upside down, yet it feels better overall than just casually flying around in your ship. Hooning in an SRV over rough terrain is less harsh than cruising in your ship, as far as your stomach is concerned.

I'd really like to know if this is happening in the Vive as well. Although there was mention that the bug would be fixed in the next 1.5 patch, it made it into the Horizons Beta and I do wonder how long it will be until it is finally fixed. If Vive came out tomorrow and this bug ends up being released to the main game, Elite would be known as a game that makes you sick, which is a shame as it used to be one of the best VR experiences. I really hope this wasn't a design choice, as it throws all sorts of questions up into the air.

Vive was on my "buy immediately" list due to Elite, but with how VR is for the game atm, I'll be holding off on buying the Vive until I hear from others that all these VR issues are addressed.

Set gfx to Low, go back into game, back to gfx and set back to original settings, no judder.
Sounds like old settings are conflicting with new, good to know this, graphic resets are always a good thing to do when there's major updates in games.
