Badges; what and where?

I have seen a few posts mentioning that there are forum "badges" indicating CHC or EB members. I haven't noticed such badges. Are they on the avatar? Background? Did i misunderstand...?

aaah. ok i see it now. faded in the background. my brightness is turned down so it's barely visible.
