Baffled by nameplates.

Not sure why something so simple appears be so confusing.

Named my ship. Left the ID tag as it is.
Bought the "Boundary" nameplate/ID plate/whatever while the update was downloading.

Didn't see any sign of it being present in the game.
Noticed that it was different to all the other nameplates so I decided to buy the "Explorer" nameplates as well.
Didn't see any sign of that appearing in the game either.

As of about 10 minutes ago, I can now see the "boundary" tag as an option for ship name slots AND ship ID slots but it only displays the ship ID. NOT the name.
Even when it's being used in the ship name slot.

I assume there's some kind of backlog and the Explorer nameplates will also appear sooner or later, thus allowing me to actually apply the NAME of my ship to the hull, rather than the ID tag.

Even so, if the "Boundary" set will only ever allow you to display the ID tag, rather than the ship's actual name, that would mean there's no way of getting an un-embelished name printed on the side of your ship cos even the "Practical" set has borders and patterns.

Would it not have been simpler if each "pack" contained, say, 3 designs for the name and 1 for the ID tag, all with the same theme? [where is it]

I bought the name plates and ship ID nearly two hours ago, nothing in game

Have logged in and out

Nothing

[edit] they've appeared in the last 30 seconds ignore me

I'm really confused by boundary as well.

By the description, it sounded to me as though it was ship ID, and ship name in one pack.

Seemingly not then? This is why I didn't buy it until this was confirmed.

So it just allows you to put the ID, in either the name slot, or the ID slot?

Seems like they worded that REALLY badly in the store, as it states it comes with a name plate.

They changed the description. Boundary is for ID, the rest for names.

Stealthy: servers are super busy, many people report delayed transactions. It'll come, and then you can put ID or names in the nameslots. ID slots can only be filled with ID.

Have you ever seen ship names and registry tags on a real boat/ship?

Registry tags and type styles are required to be legible and big enough to read from a distance.
Ship names are often painted smaller on the bow and/or stern and can be stylized to a larger degree.

So it makes sense that registry tags would be larger and in a plain font and that name plates would be more stylized.

I'm also baffled there's no way to just get your ship's name on there without extra lines or cartoons. The boundry set would be perfect for ship names.
