Oh dear - that is not "exploring" - that is just mucking about where other people have been already.
Seriously, if you have not arrived in a system and found a blank system map, then you have not travelled.
darn it. I have now had a number of people correcting me. … maybe I'll rage quit again!
To be honest I cant' work out why having told me there are X number of objects in the system it can't at least tell me where they are.
Also why, if a system has been scanned, why don't I just get a map of it instead of having to go through the whole rigmarole myself. That at least would make some sense.
"Discovered by cmdr x, surface scanned by same or another" and everyone can see the results.
Especially since you can get ranked up while still in said remote(ish) system without having to return.
BTW I have done 'real' exploring and have a good number of firsts under my belt, but that is not my point.
