Banshee : how to kill

Plasma rifles is what I've been hearing... AX multies maybe.
I killed a couple at a spire site using the Scorpion SRV. It does alright against them. I think they gave 1 million in bonds which seemed surprising.
I'd try to aggro only one at a time, though, because they can do a number on the SRV hull. I was less than 50% hull after each kill, and that was even after having used "standard" upgrade hull repair to get more armor.
It would probably go better if you had a friend who could man the turret while you drive around and avoid the explodey goo bags they toss at you. I'm not the best at navigating rough terrain while trying to keep the SRV upright and moving the direction I want it to go, all while aiming the turret at an enemy. I definitely would have come out with more hull to spare if I were better at that so that I could avoid the goo bombs.

They do. I've taken out three Banshee's using AX MC's
As far as I've tried so far, the fastest is with two shotguns, stowed reloading, under the Banshee, jumping into the air as close as possible to his belly (the low gravity helps here) and shooting from close range. Even when he throws the mines, if you're in a jump when they explode down on the ground, they don't do any damage.
That's how it works with Spire sites, but not in settlements (with ax reactivations) because Revenants keep appearing there, so you can't fight Banshee one-on-one. I was killing him there with the Scorpion, from a distance.

Scorpion is what I used. Takes a lot of rockets and moving around and had to reload once.
They are silly slow. Mostly the trouble is trying to drive one way while looking another way in the turret view. Once gone, its a long time before another arrives unless you get close to a different mega barnacle.
I didn't even notice the bounty. Was doing it to clear the way to the mega barnacle and didn't think to look.
I watched a couple of streamers live on twitch using ax missiles killing them. Banshee looks to have point defense and really thick back armor. So aim in front of the Banshee, splash damage off the ground will cause them to die, slowly. I didn't count exactly but it seemed like 10-20 3 rocket salvos landing just in front of the banshee to take it out. We definitely need better weapons for dealing with them as they cannot directly be targeted from ships, and almost all on foot weapons except for plasma are useless. I will have to look for videos of Scorpion SRV's killing them, as I have not seen anyone successfully do that yet
AXI reported that ships actually clip through them.
I am using 5G Manticore Executioner against them. It takes <30s.

Do you get good coverage with that?
Does it also work with a G5 Intimidator ?
In my case, all plasma weapons are effective against Banshee except Manticore Oppressor.
So the vulnerable spot is below and to the rear. I got to try to bounce some missile splash damage to the ground there and see if it works the next time I happen to be carrying those in my ship. My friend and one got one with Scorpions, one shooting from front and another from behind. He probably managed to get some hits on the weak spot because it went down relatively fast.
Let's call them vulnerables, as in shoot it in the vulnerables!
